Communications and Community Outreach Coordinator The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office seeks a highly motivated communications professional to serve as theCommunications and Community Outreach Coordinator. The coordinator will work collaboratively with the Director of Community Outreach and the Director of Communications as part of the communications and community outreach team to deliver effective communication around policies and initiatives undertaken by the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office. The Communications and Outreach Coordinator will assist with external communications, and community outreach initiatives, including but not limited to: social media, content development, public relations communications and event planning. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented team player that is passionate about preventative initiatives, and addressing community challenges, with a familiarity in communication strategy and communication mediums. Responsibilities * Contribute to the development of a communication plan to increase community engagement and office transparency; * Maintain website and social media content, including posting news stories, upcoming events, and press releases; * Prepare and regularly update a community engagement calendar of events; * Serve as the Communications liaison to the Berkshire Domestic and Sexual Violence Task Force; * Assist in the creation of external communications on behalf of the District Attorney's Office; * Assist in preparing annual reports and quarterly newsletters; * Event planning; * Pursue appropriate professional development to remain current on communications and public relations trends; * Develop and implement communications plan; * Demonstrate discretion and decorum in communications and maintain confidentiality with unquestionable integrity; * Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in fields of political science, marketing, or communications * Demonstrated familiarity with design elements of communication mediums, social media platforms, and video production; * Familiarity with graphic design programs; * Demonstrated ability to set goals and measure outcomes. Strong performance orientation and skillful strategic thinking. Strong verbal and written communication skills; * Demonstrated ability to communicate policy objectives of BDAO to the public; * Ability to coordinate all aspects of an event, including: logistics, correspondence, printed materials; * Capacity to work well under pressure, and the ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form; * Candidates must be able to work both independently, and in a team environment; * The candidate must be available to work some nights and weekends; * Communicate effectively with a diverse population and interact in a respectful and professional manner with the public, judicial and law enforcement personnel, and office staff; * Fulfill the mandatory education and training requirements of the State Ethics Commission; * Complete work assignments in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner; * Ability to travel locally as required. The Communications and Outreach Coordinator reports to the Director of Community Outreach. This is an onsite position based in our Pittsfield office. The successful candidate must be primarily located inBerkshire County. Social distancing and safety protocols will be observed.COVID-19 vaccinationis required prior to hire date, all employees are required to follow future booster mandates. All full-time positions offer a State benefits package that includes medical/dental/vision insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement plan, paid vacation, personal, parental, and sick leave. Payroll is paid bi-weekly and based on a 37.5 hour workweek (8:30 am to 4:30 pm). All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of the background check.
