The Container Store In-Home Design Specialist in Peabody, Massachusetts

The In-Home Design Specialist is an expert in custom space design with a vast knowledge of all storage and organization solutions and products sold at The Container Store. The In-Home Design Specialist manages the customer relationship development for The Container Store’s in-home, virtual and in-store customers. This position manages projects from inquiry through installation to provide a seamless customer experience and achieve sales and other goals. The In-Home Design Specialist works with customers in their homes by appointment, virtually by appointment, as well as with in-store customers when scheduled in the store.

  • Manages and maintains multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up with consistent and concise communication to customers and others

  • Designs and sells complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions

  • Develops clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store.

  • Plans and executes strategies for closing sales and meeting goals

  • Collaborates and communicates with the customer to design and present projects and customized plans in a clear and professional manner

  • Closes sales efficiently, builds repeat and referral business

  • Collaborates, partners and maintains consistent communication with Store Leadership, Store Employees and corporate partners to seamlessly complete projects from inquiry to installation to achieve personal sales goals and other goals

  • As a brand ambassador, enthusiastically drives, motivates and supports all company initiatives by modeling and coaching professional and productive behaviors with store employees to achieve store and other goals

  • Remains current with The Container Store training, selling, product knowledge, promotions, processes and philosophies when interacting with customers, CSD, store employees and Installation

  • Proficiently and consistently uses company tools and email

  • Adheres to The Container Store training, sales and follow-up best practices, processes and philosophies in all interactions

  • Actively leads and participates in the maintenance of the custom closets showroom

  • Provides consistent feedback and observations to Store Leadership, Custom Closets Market Manager, Area Director and Regional Director on sales, service and process areas of opportunity and celebration

  • Must meet safety regulations including passing a Motor Vehicle Records report and a criminal background check

  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word and knowledge of Excel

  • Understands retail is an ever-changing industry and requires flexibility in scheduling

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
