The Senior Product Manager will have the responsibility for all aspects of Aspen’s product management function. The Senior Product Manager role is critically important to fulfill Aspen’s vision to be the premier global aerogel company. The position will work closely with Segment Marketing and Product Marketing roles to manage Aspen’s product portfolio and product roadmap. The position requires strong technical skills, project management experience, teamwork and collaboration with Sales, Manufacturing, Research and Development, Commercial Operations, and Finance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive organization to offer products that are superior to competition.
Perform market research related to Aspen’s market segments and product portfolio.
Define and communicate with internal stakeholders, customers, and partners on product roadmap and strategy.
Identify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research, supported by visits to customers and industry experts.
Lead product stewardship programs, including representing Aspen at industry standard bodies (ASTM, CINI, CEN, etc), develop and manage product standards roadmap and work with quality to ensure compliance to all internal and external industry standards.
Determine and manage product application testing.
Work in conjunction with Segment and Product Marketing to develop product messaging and branding strategy and tactics, including features, benefits, and value proposition.
Commercial leadership, working with quality and manufacturing, to oversee all product quality issues and follow through to resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
Manage the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
Lead Aspen’s stage-gate product development process. Drive product development, working closely with manufacturing, R&D, sales, and marketing from product creation through go-to-market strategy.
Work closely with product marketing to insure successful launch of new products.
Collaborate with marketing to assist in the development of marketing plans, product literature, and sales training documentation.
Set product pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals.
Perform competitive product analysis.
Develop and implement ongoing product training program for the sales organization. Work closely with Technical Services to ensure comprehensive training program.
Communicates product plans to other functions in the business.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required or equivalent work experience. Technical / Engineering degree preferred.
A minimum of eight (8) years related experience in Product Management.
Experience in Technical Sales and Product Development.
The successful candidate will have:
A strong technical background.
Direct experience in product management.
Demonstrated project/program management skills.
Experience working directly with sales teams.
Experience developing product-level value propositions.
A demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills.
A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form with internal and external customers.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of time.
Experience with industrial or building insulation products, preferred.
Proven performance in product management through experience with specific example of success.
