Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Product Manager – Technical who will be working with the AR SW and HW teams focused on new product and technology development in the inbound automation product space at fulfillment, sortation, and cross-dock centers. The PM-T is responsible for defining a system of interrelated products and assisting the team through the full product lifecycle. This position will be responsible for financial analysis, feature definition and prioritization, and resource scoping and commitments for multiple programs and products. This role is also a customer facing position and will require the ability to build relationships with Amazon Fulfillment teams and to develop and assess external requirements. The position will report within the product management excellence organization.

Key job responsibilities

  • Serve as the Voice of the Customer for several product lines throughout its life cycle from initial concept creation to launch, and subsequent support of the product.

  • Drive product development efforts, including research, requirements definition, metrics analysis, technical specifications, development, and launch efforts.

  • Assist in developing new products by evaluating the business and competitive landscape, understanding customer needs and value drivers

  • Write business and product requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business, design and development teams.

  • Work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences.

  • Measure and analyze existing products for opportunities to innovate and improve, providing additional benefits to customers

  • Research and identify new opportunities

  • Present confidently to Amazon senior management as well as other large audiences.

A day in the life

There is no typical day as a PMT - You will spend time analyzing customer requests, developing models to understand tradeoff decisions, creating financial models, building requirements, working with engineering teams, and much more!

About the team

The Product Management Excellence (PME) team’s mission is to collaborate with Leadership and broadly across AR to establish our long-term vision and influence AR’s product and technology strategy to develop a portfolio that maximizes AR’s impact to Amazon. We aim to own the full product lifecycle by balancing three ongoing priorities: (1) continuously improving the world’s largest robotics product base, (2) delivering new solutions that maximize our customers’ business performance, and (3) inventing transformative products to solve our customers’ future needs

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

  • Master's degree
