We are looking for a Localization Specialist to help us take our localization initiative to the next level in the EMEA, APAC, and South American markets. The successful candidate will be extremely process oriented, have a desire to contribute to overall strategy and have an eye toward analytics and ROI. Ultimately, the Localization Project Manager will act as a conduit to support all of our Marketing and Sales efforts across the globe.
Manage marketing localization projects across a variety of languages from beginning to end, by working with cross-functional stakeholders and translation vendors to assign, schedule, and execute.
Develop project plans and workflows, track schedules, spend, and quality control.
Recognize the need for and contribute to process improvements and tool improvements and remain in lockstep with evolving localization needs.
Validate translations of marketing content with internal native speakers via review process and provide feedback to vendors.
Track our translation quality over time with the goal of continuous improvement while maintaining and contributing to company-wide glossaries to ensure consistency.
High attention to detail, efficient time-management, and strong organizational skills.
Understanding of modern project management methods and tools (e.g. Asana, JIRA, etc.).
Solid understanding of internationalization best practices and regional nuances (style, tone, etiquette, etc.).
Knowledge of content management systems (e.g. Drupal, Wordpress, etc.) to help manage integrations and analytics platforms (Google Analytics) to measure ROI.
Experience with MadTranslations or Translations.com/Transperfect a plus.
3-5 years’ experience in localization and best practices with an international company.
BA/BS preferably in Business, Marketing, or related.
Solid understanding of analytics and KPIs that drive translation strategy and ability to measure those against stated goals.
Successfully manage translation requests from start to finish and to help drive the overall strategy for translation.
Comfortable working with tight deadlines to ensure that delivery timelines are met.
Able to understand and plan for the cascading impact of organizational changes on translated assets.
Demonstrated ability to manage a library of multi-language assets and the delivery channels necessary to provide those assets to key departments in the organization.
Understanding of localization challenges and nuance within a variety of regions.
Process-oriented, flexible, and proactive mentality to problem solving.
