WATTS Global MDM Program Manager in North Andover, Massachusetts
As Global MDM Program Manager, you will help us set strategic direction and lead execution of initiatives to improve the quality and availability of our global product master data. This role brings business knowledge and product master data expertise together with strategic mindset and project management rigor to support business requirements. This resource will also closely partner with business resources to manage day-to-day operations of existing product data-related services, and to manage prioritization, scheduling, and budgeting of all product data-related backlog requests.Role can be 100% remote from anywhere in the Eastern time zone.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
As product MDM subject matter expert on our Global Data and Analytics Team, lead global initiatives to improve the quality and distribution of our product master data
Develop requirements documentation to support MDM initiatives, and provide input to MDM technical team to support IT development and support activities
Develop business cases and manage budget for product data-related initiatives
Set development priorities and timelines and monitor and report on progress
Lead teams of IT and business resources during MDM testing initiatives to support successful product data-related implementations.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve quality of master data across the enterprise.
Measure effectiveness of MDM initiatives throughout the enterprise by defining and reporting on KPIs that help ensure cross-team processes are efficient and master data is consistent, accurate, and compliant across applications
Contribute to development of Data and Analytics strategic roadmap from MDM perspective
Act as liaison between key business stakeholders and technical team to support all product data-related initiatives.
Initiate and facilitate discussions between different business functions, balance conflicting viewpoints, and achieve consensus with key business stakeholders.
Act as data evangelist and help inspire and foster recognition of the business value of trusted data across the enterprise. Help generate excitement about the possibilities!
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required. College degree preferred
- Will manage offshore contract resources
12+ years overall data-centric experience (business or IT side)
8+ years of program management experience working closely with both business and IT resources
5+ years of experience acting as SME on product MDM implementations – ideally, at a manufacturing company
Demonstrated experience developing business requirements and business cases for MDM systems and ability to distill complex business requirements, and then effectively communicate those to IT resources
Expert knowledge of end-to-end processes for collecting and maintaining product master data across the enterprise and then distributing data to business partners or systems
Ability to rationalize existing vocabularies to help break down silos and establish a common business vocabulary.
Ability to partner and influence business leaders and IT colleagues
Solid change management skills
Ability to understand organizational data requirements and define, clearly articulate, and drive plan to provide accurate master data that meets a manufacturing firm’s objectives
Ability to identify the root cause of data quality issues and lead teams of technical and business resources to resolve
Solid business acumen and ERP knowledge with manufacturing experience
Excellent problem-solving skills with strong track record of producing analytic insight that has led to significant data quality improvements
Experience with MDM tools especially Informatica MDM, IBM InfoSphere MDM, or Stibo
Customer MDM experience is a plus
Very strong oral and written communications skills
