Ascensus VP, Retirement Product Capability Leader in Newton, Massachusetts

Owns the overall product vision and roadmap for capabilities in their purview by taking responsibility for maximizing the value of the capability set, acting as the subject matter expert regarding existing capabilities, and having a comprehensive understanding of our competitive positioning while also thinking like a P&L owner.

This position is located preferably in our Dresher, PA or Newton, MA offices - Hybrid. Remote applications can be considered.

Responsibilities:

Product vision and roadmap: clearly articulates the objectives of the capability set and the path towards achieving them

  • Creates and owns the product vision for the applicable capabilities – with a focus on the outcomes

  • Leads development of roadmaps for capability set in partnership with design, technology & scrum

  • Partners with sales and marketing to translate our roadmap into an external message that allows for “selling futures”

  • Stays abreast of industry and competitor dynamics – including our positioning relative to key

  • Identifies new opportunities and areas of differentiation and growth

Client experience:

Deep understanding of the way target audience engages with Ascensus and a continued focus on intuitive and delightful interactions across their entire journey

  • Defines and owns the end-to-end view of the customer journey and their comprehensive set of

  • Partners with Design/UX team to develop a plan for engagement with customers and gathering their feedback regarding high value interactions

  • Oversees customer research and engagement for gathering feedback and determining product

  • Relentless focus on customer ease of use through identifying and resolving their key problems

Ownership of capability set:

Takes responsibility for maximizing the value of the capability set across all retirement recordkeeping segments

  • Establishes and manages key metrics and measures of success for the capability set and takes responsibility for delivery against goals

  • Partners with segment leaders and other shared services to drive adoption of capabilities

  • Creates and/or enhances documentation for internal and external audiences that demonstrates our

  • Serve as the internal and external subject matter expert for the applicable capability set

Supervision

  • Manages and develops a high performing team through implementation of effective recruitment, training, performance management, motivation and coaching.

  • Leads and engages employees in a positive and professional manner where inclusion and diversity of thought are leveraged for innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Works with employee to set and execute associate SMART goals/objectives.

  • Manages direct reports according to Ascensus policy

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations

Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ of product leadership experience/ expertise is required

  • Deep understanding of the retirement industry and competitive dynamics

Skills/Capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to create a compelling product vision – including, key measures of success

  • Experience owning and driving product roadmaps and knowledge of Agile product development methodologies and practices

  • Strong leadership skills – including managing direct reports and driving results through other groups

  • Demonstrated ability to operate and create results with limited oversight

  • Excellent communication & influencing skills – with the ability to lead diverse groups to consensus

  • Strong stakeholder management; able to partner across business segments

  • An effective team player, who can work with people at all levels

  • High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity & ethics

  • Highly organized with the ability to effectively prioritize key issues and deliverable
