What You'll Contribute

The Senior Manager, Marketing Technology Delivery is a key contributor to the delivery of the overall Marketing Technology Strategy, as well as supporting tactical delivery of solutions to support on-going Marketing Operations.

The role will work cross functionally within MarTech as well as broadly across the IT and Business Development organizations to determine data needs and construct in support of new tool deployment within the MarTech space, helping deliver on the overall MarTech strategy.

In addition, the role directly supports the Campaign Operations group in its delivery of Marketing Campaigns across all products, channels and media, and liaises with IT to address data gaps and needs in support of these products and campaigns.

Primary duties will include engagement in and helping to drive the direction of major MarTech tool implementations ensuring the delivery provides the optimal solution to the operating areas as well as providing business value in line with organizational goals

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Planning and MarTech Tool Implementation

  • Provides planning, leadership and organization of the technical support for implementation of new MarTech tools.

  • Conducts meetings with appropriate personnel to define goals and objectives of business application and to ensure the data and implementation of the tools are optimized for the performance of the MarTech teams and in support of delivering business value across all product lines.

  • Establishes framework for proper development of the structure and components of a business application system by ensuring that effective methodology is used.

  • Works with other functional area on Streamlining, process enhancement, data cleans, Data architecture and identify marketing leads that can add value/revenue.

  • Ensures that current departmental tools and techniques are actively utilized.

  • Develops and maintain a thorough knowledge of multiple Sallie Mae business functions and products, and how the system and procedures that support these functions and products interrelate.

  • Learns business functions and systems outside of assigned responsibilities

  • Communicates ideas, system requirements, and system clarifications to assigned staff members, internal users, and external clients both verbally and in writing in a clear, concise manner and tailored to the appropriate audiences.

  • Maintains good general understanding of the other functional areas of the company and communicate to the appropriate staff information that has an impact on their assigned projects or responsibilities.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of the software environment and system resources currently available to perform the job efficiently.

  • Campaign Operations Support

  • Works closely with Campaign Ops team on new campaigns to define and identify data sources required to deliver the campaign, across all product lines, ensuring understanding of business intent as well as requirements

  • Liaises with technology to ensure data is made available, helping drive feature development and prioritization to ensure campaign timelines are met.

  • Supports training the Campaign Ops team to educate on new product data, tables, standards etc. that they need and should follow in campaign delivery.

  • Takes an active role in identifying and suggesting the training needs of the Campaign Ops staff.

What You Have

Minimum Education, Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology or related field and/or equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing Campaign Delivery.

  • 4 years of experience as a project manager or equivalent role.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Ability to establish standards to ensure projects are adequately estimated, controlled, tracked, and managed.

  • People management skills, which includes making hiring and firing decisions, counseling, coaching, and motivating staff.

  • Strong knowledge of software environment.

  • Strong knowledge of business environment.

  • Ability to use structured methodology for management of medium-to-large projects.

  • Ability to effectively represent Sallie Mae to representatives of outside organizations.

  • Interpersonal skills required for a team environment.

  • Effective written and oral skills.
