GPS - Opportunity Awareness Specialist

Work you'll do

As a Senior Opportunity Awareness Specialist on our team you will:

  • Enable internal leaders to quickly assess and respond to Federal Government requests by:

  • Reviewing solicitation documents to identify the true buying client of an opportunity

  • Vetting and correcting incoming data as needed so it routes to the appropriate audience

  • Maintaining accurate data in our internal systems

  • Assisting with ad hoc search requests or data queries

  • Adjust to shifting priorities, stringent deadlines, last minute requirements, and occasional evening hours to accomplish tasks within non-negotiable client deadlines

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of research processes, tools, and templates

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 2 years combined experience in the Federal government market with any of the following: Federal Government business development or federal contracts/acquisition

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Capable of asking probing questions of internal stakeholders to better gauge their needs and requests

  • Experienced user of Excel and manipulating datasets

  • Professional customer service manner and ability to interact with all levels of management and leadership

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

  • Flexible and adaptable to ongoing changes in processes, tools, and systems, and an eagerness to learn and engage throughout the process.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • Able to switch hats easily and cover duties when another team member is out of office.

Preferred:

  • Advanced capabilities with Excel formulas and pivot tables to include Tableau

  • Experience with gov and Deltek's GovWin IQ for opportunity searches.

People and Project Management:

  • A team player with an outstanding ability to work with people at all levels, including senior executives

  • Ability to analyze information and make sound observations and recommendations quickly

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others, from staff to senior leaders through a strong presence, thoughtful challenges, and use of sound judgment

  • Strong interpersonal and political skills, including aptitude for building relationships, understanding team dynamics, taking initiative, and solving problems

  • Keen listener, with the ability to quickly grasp ideas to be reflected in written documents and presentations

  • Ability to read situations and adapt leadership style to achieve results

  • Ability to work with grace and efficiency in a demanding, deadline-driven environment

  • Team-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks at once

  • Attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Travel up to 25% (while 25% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)

The GPS Opportunity Awareness team, located within GPS Sales Excellence, Pipeline Analytics + Strategic Intelligence group, performs Opportunity Awareness, which is the daily monitoring, distribution, and tracking of opportunities across GPS.
