Bright Horizons Director, Art in Newton, Massachusetts
In collaboration with the Vice President, this role sets vision for look and feel of organization's design. Leads in-house design team, setting strategic direction, overseeing development of on-brand, effective creative concepts, and managing seamless execution. Ensures work is consistent with Bright Horizons’ design quality standards for every audience and each business line while continuing to evolve to stay current. Acts as a player-coach, producing and managing.
What you will do:
Leads a team of designers.
Possesses excellent design skills, understands creative integrity, and reinforces brand at every point of contact, bringing fresh direction and insight to creative while maintaining and helping to evolve defined design standards.
Effectively manages partner expectations regarding design deliverables.
Pursues design excellence by evaluating work against creative peers and the industry and ensuring differentiated look and feel from competitors.
Reviews team work to ensure its quality, strategic integrity, and appropriate integration.
Partners with external agencies, photographers, freelancers, as appropriate to seamlessly manage spikes in workload.
Oversees DAM and ensures that imagery is accessible to key business partners throughout organization
Works with direct reports in developing design skills.
Provides strategic leadership for organizational unit or department
Regularly required to influence senior leadership

What you will bring to the position:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Graphic Design combined with outstanding creative portfolio required
7 years of experience in leading a design team required
Demonstrated management skills for designers and ability to collaborate with senior leaders throughout organization
Experience with a wide array of media including print and digital.
Proficient with design applications including In Design, Photoshop, Quark, Illustrator and PowerPoint as well as a thorough working knowledge of print production.
Requires strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and presentation skills
