International Data Group Research Manager, Infrastructure for Enterprise Workloads in Needham, Massachusetts
IDC is seeking a Research Manager to lead and grow our research on Infrastructure Trends and Strategies for Enterprise Workloads. We are seeking an individual with a broad understanding of IT infrastructure needs for current and emerging enterprise workloads (applications and their data sets), including workloads hosted in enterprise datacenters, at the edge, and in the cloud. The role requires solid working knowledge of computing technologies and general understanding of the adjacent markets, e.g., storage, network, software, and infrastructure and platform solutions delivered as a service. The position requires working knowledge of infrastructure and infrastructure services, regular writing on industry developments, including insightful thought leadership covering emerging trends, creation of custom deliverables for specific clients and broad collaboration across IDC.

Develop and deliver market intelligence to support IDC's IT Infrastructure needs related to current and next generation workloads (applications and their associated data sets)
Build on technology expertise and vendor-buyer interactions to develop thought leadership themes for the IT infrastructure industry, and evaluate the anticipated impact to the various market players
Analyze primary and secondary data to develop a data-driven point of view of trends in the market
Author syndicated and custom reports on IT infrastructure needs for specific workloads
Effectively communicate key themes (market trends, technology considerations, trade-offs, etc.) to clients in a compelling manner
Stay abreast of new developments and trends in the workload IT infrastructure market to effectively engage and guide IT decision makers and influencer's
Collaborate with analysts across IDC's broader technology coverage domains (infrastructure, software, and services) to deliver cross-domain content
Build and maintain relationships with analyst relations partners and product owners at technology vendor clients
Attend and/or present at relevant vendor, industry, and IDC events
Bachelor's Degree required, advanced degree a plus
5-7 years of experience required; IT vendor or other IT market research firm experience considered a plus
Good working knowledge of IT infrastructure needs for various enterprise applications and datasets
Familiarity with IT environments at enterprise and service provider organizations, and computing platforms and technologies
Ability to travel 15-20% (POST COVID)
This position can be based in Needham, MA OR and approved remote location with accessibility to a major airport
