The Consumer division (known for brands like PCWorld, Macworld, Tech Advisor, & PC Welt to name a few) works closely with the rest of the B2B focused businesses but has a stand-alone element that allows us to adjust and apply strategies to work specifically for the nature of our Consumer business. Its revenue is spread across Direct sold media solutions, Indirect Programmatic and Network platform sales, Affiliate based revenues and paid for Reader solutions (print and digital).

As both media and marketing evolve, IDG continues its position in the market as a leader in delivering trusted solutions and content to its user base across the range of our 26 consumer sites across the globe. We have strong aspirations to further grow our audiences, traffic and revenues.

The Outreach Marketing Manager will play an integral role in moving the worldwide IDG Consumer business forward. Audience Marketing is at the intersection of content and product with audiences flowing into our sites where they are monetized by Direct Sold Advertising, Indirect Programmatic advertising and via our Affiliate partnerships.

This role will report directly to our Head of Global Consumer Audience and will oversee the worldwide audience growth related projects and strategy. To be successful in the Outreach Marketing Manager role at IDG, you must be confident in your ability to work toward aggressive strategic and audience goals set by the Consumer Leadership Team).

We are looking for someone with the ability to look down-field and plan for the evolving market while also ensuring our day-to-day needs and goals are also achieved. The Outreach Marketing Manager will be the driving force behind email and social media engagement. They will be tasked with implementing the appropriate strategies, tools, processes, and metrics that will guarantee a positive impact on our overall traffic levels and revenue growth.

  • Lead planning and oversee execution for IDG’s email marketing and social media calendars

  • Build and optimize segmentation and email content personalization strategies by leveraging user behavior and activity data.

  • You will be responsible for optimizing the email experience through building and merchandising a high volume of email and push-notification content

  • Own community building across Facebook, Pinterest, and emerging platforms from strategy to execution

  • Analyze and report on performance, using both quantitative and qualitative analysis to draw insights for optimization.

  • Deliver against key engagement and revenue goals for commerce and editorial emails.

  • Aligning with cross-functional internal teams such as Product, Editorial, and Creative to develop and launch digital initiatives that drive growth and retention across the portfolio.

  • Creating test plans for creative elements to drive increased engagements.

  • Contribute to and support IDG’s objectives in creating a work culture that makes IDG a great place to work including - training, development, respect, diversity, inclusion and wellness at work.

  • Minimum of 6+ years of email and social media marketing in a consumer environment

  • Extensive experience and excellent results in growing audience and engagements

  • Understanding of emerging technologies and how they can be leveraged for growth

  • A solid understanding of how to leverage data to test and execute growth strategies

  • Established track record of achieving growth across email and social media channels

  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external partnerships; must be able to work with various internal stakeholders in a collaborative & harmonious way and drive projects through to successful conclusion

  • Experience in CRM marketing with demonstrated substantial knowledge in CRM platforms and solutions for targeting, segmentation, campaign management, and email marketing

  • Experience in segmentation, testing methodology, and setting up and using email/marketing automation platforms for 4 years

  • Experience with various social media channels, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc. and how each outreach strategies differ by platform
