How will you make an impact?
Focus will be on establishing an end to end enterprise wide Category management methodology. The scope will include developing means to effectively assess our category management performance, category and supplier insights and forward-looking opportunities, developing and reporting on key process and output program metrics and actively participating in the category strategy management process. This individual will be a key interface between the Procurement function team and the Category management team.
What will you do?
Coach and guide category management colleagues, share insight from analysis and forward-looking viewpoints to influence innovations into the business
Audit the quality of category strategies, provide feedback to Category management colleagues, and ensure business and leadership sign off
Facilitate large teams, collaborate with Strategy & PMO to build a pipeline
Work closely with external vendor(s) to create training programs that improve category management performance
Provide leadership and guidance focused on developing, sharing and documenting best practices across the enterprise
Effectively deploy a standardized methodology and tools across the enterprise
Establish, train and maintain standard practices supporting the category management effort
Develop and deploy segmentation processes to assist in focusing on key categories
Work with Category leaders to establish a regular and focused cadence for category strategy reviews across the enterprise
Working with Category leaders and business partners establish standard KPI’s to measure category management value creation
How will you get here?
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
B.S. degree in (Procurement, Business or Technical Field)
Experience and understanding in a Category management
Experience in category management process
Ability to guide category managers to maintain schedule, drive content adjustments and insights from a business viewpoint
Ability to lead cross functional global teams
Understanding of key elements involved in Category Strategy
Strong process orientation
Candidate must have experience in taking initiatives from concept through to full implementation
Candidate will need to be able to effectively manage by influence without authority and to successfully collaborate with colleagues across the globe
Candidate must have experience in driving Global multisite initiatives
