Waters Technical Publishing Specialist in Milford, Massachusetts

As a member of the Customer Experience and Knowledge Management (CXKM) department, the Technical Publishing Specialist is responsible for on-schedule production, proofreading, and release of technical documentation to multiple web platforms. We are looking for a detail-oriented, passionate, team-player, ready to join a high-volume documentation team committed to delivering customer and field-facing content supporting all of Waters products

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet or exceed established standards and specifications for content style, accuracy, language, and consistency and for production and publishing quality.

  • Build collaborative, long-term, relationships with colleagues, peers, management, and external teams, through effective use of written and verbal communication.

  • Utilize and recommends optimization to processes and customer-focused practices, proactively anticipating content end-user issues to solve problems effectively and efficiently.

  • Adhere to project schedules and established processes, troubleshooting issues, managing risk, and demonstrating critical thinking skills.

  • Expert organizational and project coordination skills in a high-volume environment.

  • Stay up to date with industry standards, processes, and technologies.

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality is critical to successful performance in this role.

  • Must be able to contribute positively and proactively to evolving processes and changing environment.

Functional Reponsibilities:

  • Review and proofread content in English so that documentation adheres to publishing and production standards and specifications. Content review occurs in CMS and other authoring tool environments as well as through PDF.

  • Review localized PDF documents based off English projects to prepare for release and web upload.

  • Upload and maintain content deliverables on our portfolio of web platforms.

  • Pivot to address urgent content and web upload production and publishing needs from through the department and company.

  • Onboard new-hires for production best-practices and conducts regular training of backup resources.

Bachelor's degree in related discipline, or, 3+ years’ related industry or functional experience with proofreading or in a digital publishing environment.

Experience with metadata best practices, SEO and taxonomy.

Experience with XML, HTML, CMS and DITA-based, industry standard content authoring tools and video publishing software.

Basic image skills (renaming, resizing, cropping, uploading).

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Adobe, Smartsheet, Atlassian tools, SAP,. web publishing tools
