Waters Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Milford, Massachusetts

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this newly created role will engage your functional expertise, your creativity, your critical thinking, and your organizational leadership to make working at Waters an awesome experience for everyone on our team!

Key deliverables for this new role include

  • Translate leadership direction around increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion into a short- and long-term roadmap and concrete operating plan.

  • Develop metrics and dashboards to provide insights, trends and progress to hold the organization accountable to our operating plan.

  • Facilitate the design and development of team-member advisory and working teams to support initiatives and programs.

  • Build the global community of practice to actively engage local teams and drive global and local initiatives.

  • Partner with the Employee Circle leaders to ensure effective leadership, development, and coordination of Waters employee resource groups.

  • Collaborate with recruiting resources across the organization to increase the scope and impact of diversity sourcing and mitigate bias in screening, interviews, and selection decisions.

  • Consult with our Talent, Compensation and Benefits Centers of Expertise in building processes and tools that remove structural barriers to full participation of underrepresented groups. Actively contribute to and provide advice in the development of workforce plans, learning and development programs, talent assessments and succession planning cycles.

  • Collaborate with Corporate Communications in building a communications strategy to support the inclusion strategy including the design and execution of plans for continuous dialog and feedback-seeking from our team members on building belonging into the fabric of our culture.

  • Collaborate with internal partners on integrating DEI within our corporate philanthropy efforts and overall ESG strategy.

Experiences that would facilitate success in this role

  • Extensive experience designing and executing programs and processes that have measurably increased diversity, inclusion, equity, and/or belonging and been clearly aligned with the company’s commercial and growth strategies.

  • Global experience executing DE&I processes, understanding of the complexities and nuances associated with global and local requirements.

  • Identification and analysis of problems or missed opportunities and the development of meaningful recommendations, including the use of tools such as root causes analysis, stakeholder input, and data analytics.

  • Leading cross-functional teams in design and execution of programs and processes.

  • Leading major cultural or process change projects.

  • Influencing leadership through relationships, business cases, data/analytics, and flawless delivery.

  • Development of strong networks and relationships in cross-organization communities of practice that share industry and functional knowledge and experiences and progressive approaches.

  • Experience in another functional discipline within or outside of HR is desirable but not required.

  • Formal education in the science of human behavior and performance, team dynamics, leadership, organizational effectiveness, culture and change. Graduate level studies desirable but not required.
