How will you make an impact?
The Senior Regional Market Development Manager has responsibility for executing regional marketing strategy, campaign execution and demand generation for the Materials Science Division (MSD), in alignment with the global go-to-market plans, business plans, growth strategy and sales targets.
This position will maintain an understanding of customer requirements for our products and applications to localize strategies for maximum effectiveness. The role will be the key interface to represent Regional Sales marketing needs with BU and Divisional Marketing. This role will develop and drive marketing programs resulting in measurable impact on pipeline, revenue, and market share gains. This role will promote long term business opportunities while supporting short term sales cycles, consistent with pipeline growth objectives. Partnering with the BU and Divisional Marketing, the Regional Marketing Manager will provide marketing, web, events and training support.
The ideal candidate for the Senior Regional Market Development Manager role will have demonstrated success influencing stakeholders within a highly matrixed organization to adopt global/regional strategies and execute them.
What will you do?
Collaborate and align with the Sales Region, Applications Development, Market Vertical Teams and BU and divisional marketing to develop annual marketing strategy and plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets, updating quarterly or as necessary and networking them with commercial leaders and channel partners.
Provide technical and regional perspective into the Materials Science Business Unit and Divisional Marketing teams to ensure the quality and technical appropriateness of local materials.
Conduct regional customer interviews to gain specific knowledge of the local market needs to refine the regional marketing message.
Work cross functionally to execute the regional marketing plan for North America, ensuring flawless delivery of relevant content and events at the right time to customers, targeting segments that drive demand generation, pipeline health and new contacts in these segments.
Work with Business Unit, the Sales Region, and the divisional marketing teams on developing go-to-market strategy for new product launches (NPIs) to achieve revenue goals and market adoption.
Implement digital-based nurturing programs and telemarketing campaigns targeted at MSD’s install base as well as cold or unqualified leads to strengthen the pipeline.
Collaborate with and support the local Materials Science sales teams and channel partners with monthly newsletter and sales tool kits.
Conduct quarterly regional market development meetings to gather input and capture local product and market trends. Create and distribute quarterly snapshot to use to adjust and refine marketing strategy to best meet regional customer and AM needs.
Analyze market trends and competitor activities and convert them into tactical marketing & sales programs.
Support the relationships with key opinion leaders and collaboration partners in the region.
Analyze key marketing programs for Return on Investment and program optimization.
Attain Pipeline Growth targets established by the BU to support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
How will you get here?
Bachelor’s degree required, in Business, Marketing, or Communications preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in business-to-business marketing, preferably in a field marketing or demand generation role.
Experience working in a complex, highly matrixed organization, and ability to partner / influence.
Proven experience supporting lead generation for multiple sales teams, with consistent performance of meeting or exceeding targets over multiple years.
Experience marketing technical / scientific products.
Solid digital knowledge and some experience in using digital marketing and social media to drive demand.
Exceptional communication skills as well as analytical, project management and planning skills necessary.
Travel is required (20%) and may be international.
Ability to improve marketing ROI and impact revenue.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to plan, execute and measure with a strong sense of urgency to drive results.
Collaborative approach to developing and sharing strategy, tactics, and analytics.
