The Red Hat Application Services Business team is looking for a creative and passionate Product Marketing Intern who to join us and learn within an innovative and dynamic company. In this role, you will be responsible for data science activities like collecting, manipulating, and analyzing a variety of business data. You’ll be asked to interpret data and offer suggestions on what conclusions the data suggests. You’ll also support the creation of reports and dashboards based on your work. The primary set of tools you will use are Tableau, Python with pandas, and Google G Suite. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Use Tableau, Python, and pandas as the primary tools used for collecting, manipulating, and analyzing data; expand your level of proficiency using these tools
Collaborate with business team leaders to develop the definition of needed data analysis and reports
Understand and document the sources of data available to the business team form sources throughout Red Hat
Create and document methods and procedures for collecting business data from primary data sources
Document methods and procedures for collecting, manipulating, and analyzing data used in repeating business team reports
Carry out collection, manipulation, and analysis of data
Advise business team leaders on unexpected or unanticipated trends or anomalies in data or data analysis results; use good judgement in determining what is important for business team leaders to know
Required skills
Ability to work full time May-August
Ability to work remotely and to regularly participate in video meetings
Currently pursuing a degree; if you have graduated, be no more than 6 months past your graduation date
Knowledge of Google Drive and G Suite
Working knowledge of Tableau, Python, and pandas
Passion for working with data
The following are considered a plus:
Passion for open source and working collaboratively
Good written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with Jupyter Notebook for working with Python and pandas
Willingness to wear a lot of red
