RedHat Principal Technical Marketing Manager in Massachusetts

Job summary

The Red Hat Business team is looking for a Principal Technical Marketing Manager to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and delivering technical marketing assets that inspire technical audiences to purchase or the purchase of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). You'll focus your efforts toward blogs, videos, and demos that will be viewed by prospective customers. You may also be required to help in more specialized efforts like helping close a sale for a specific customer. As a Principal Technical Marketing Manager, you will have significant technical sales enablement responsibility, including developing technical training materials, demos, and sales tools that are used by solutions architects, consultants, and partner presales teams. You'll also help influence the product direction of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) by internally communicating requirements and opportunities learned through customer interactions. You’ll collaborate with product marketing managers and product managers to shape the positioning, messaging, and content plans for assigned Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) offerings and experiences. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product marketing and product management teams on go-to-market strategy, including roadmap, positioning, messaging, and content plans

  • Create and deliver external content like demos, blogs, tweets, how-to videos, papers, articles, etc.

  • Create and deliver internal content like technical selling materials

  • Coordinate other associates across Red Hat to create and deliver content as needed

  • Deliver impactful presentations at key industry and Red Hat events to relevant audiences

  • Train solutions architects and other technical field associates, as well as partner technical associates, on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other related offerings

  • Communicate requirements and improvement opportunities for our offerings to relevant product stakeholders like the Product Management and Engineering teams

Required skills

  • Extensive technical background, ideally 8-10 years of software industry experience; expertise in Linux, public cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure, virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere or Red Hat Virtualization, and system management

  • Proven understanding of what it takes to motivate technical audiences; ability to translate that understanding into impactful actions that will convert the awareness and preference of prospective customers into revenue

  • Ability to create high-quality, compelling technical marketing content

  • Compelling personality with excellent presentation skills; ability to energize and excite technical audiences

  • Record of success in a fast-moving, technical environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a persuasion-driven and cross-functional environment

  • Ability to travel 25% or more
