RedHat Principal Product Manager - Deployment in Massachusetts

Job summary

The Red Hat Business team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join us. In this role, you will help define roadmaps, solutions integration and release planning, and go-to-market strategies while getting input from customers, partners, analysts, the open source community, and internal stakeholders to promote the delivery of innovative solutions to the market. You’ll also define market problems to be solved, customer personas and use cases, and market-based requirements and solutions for enterprise-level offerings. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Guide the strategy and delivery of Red Hat Cloud Platform (Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform) deployment frameworks; develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and delivery plan in support of addressing enterprise and telco market customer requirements at scale

  • Gather suite and solutions use cases across multiple Red Hat’s offerings based on competitive analysis, customer interviews, and partner inputs

  • Define and document market problems and opportunities and promote customer personas, user stories, and business cases as part of the specification of our offerings and the socialization process

  • Collaborate with other Red Hat Cloud Suite portfolio product managers to coordinate their roadmaps to ensure suite and solutions success

  • Collaborate with the Product Engineering team to determine solutions priorities, plan releases of our offerings, and maintain related roadmaps

  • Work closely with the Product Marketing team to develop positioning and go-to-market strategies; serve as an evangelist to inform and educate the user community

  • Maintain solid relationships and stay in regular communication with the Sales, Professional Services, Quality Engineering, Documentation, and Customer Support teams

  • Present Red Hat Cloud Suite deployment frameworks roadmap and strategy at industry and open source community events

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience working as a technical or business product manager for open source or enterprise software offerings

  • Experience with cloud platform deployments including virtualization, containers, private cloud, and cloud management platforms

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud platform operations, technologies, key vendors, use cases, etc.

  • Experience working with either the telco industry or large enterprises as customers in areas like network functions virtualization (NFV) infrastructure, architectural designs, and delivering cloud solutions

  • Proven record of inspiring and persuading others without having direct authority over them

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in computer science or engineering; MBA or Msc degrees are a plus

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift Platform, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, or other enterprise-level virtualization solutions or telco deployment architectures like 4G, 5G, and Edge

  • Involvement in open source community projects including Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Kubernetes operator, and TripleO

  • Previous experience working as a cloud operator managing either public cloud, private cloud, or managed services

  • Prior success in shaping and delivering cross-portfolio and ecosystem integrations

  • Previous experience working with agile, remote, or distributed team
