Consultant, Product Management – Data Management

What you’ll achieve

Taking a customer driven approach, you will help conceptualize, develop, and productize our Data Management offerings working closely with technical and business stakeholders at all levels. You will join an influential team driving Dell’s transformation by enabling its’ customers to uncover and capitalize on their diverse, dynamic and distributed data sources. This role includes synthesizing a breadth of data including customer research, telemetry, usability testing, market analysis, business trends and financial analysis to optimize customer outcomes and product success. This team partners closely with sales, engineering and service delivery teams to align product strategies and works with other product managers to develop and communicate our cross-portfolio strategy.

You will:

  • Gather customer needs and collect insights through telemetry, usability studies, A/B testing and other research, customer outreach, advisory boards, and executive briefings.

  • Define and prioritize product requirements aligned with roadmap, and ultimately deliver winning solutions.

  • Develop detailed user stories that align customer needs with outcomes and can be completed in an agile engineering and iterative development environment.

  • Collaborate with other product managers, Engineering and CTO teams to test, refine and mature our data management capabilities.

  • Provide thought leadership that informs overall Dell Technologies data management strategy and roadmap.

Essential Requirements:

  • 10-15 years of related experience; Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required.

  • Deep understanding in the Data Management space – working with IT Operations and Data Science teams. Experience with Agile software development methodologies.

  • Knowledge across Data Management Stacks – Catalog, Metadata management, Semantic layers, Data Virtualization, Data Ingestion, Streaming, Data Processing, Visualization and Marketplaces.

  • Ability to focus on connecting the dots through collaboration, vision refinement, and articulating impact through business metrics.

  • Proven experience in embracing ambiguity and converting challenges to results by building consensus and partnerships across business and engineering teams.
