The Director will leverage their specialized knowledge of Senior Living and Long-Term Care (LTC) customer segment to drive sales in these markets in addition to developing and enhancing US Foods’ reputation as a healthcare market leader by being the “face of US Foods” to these segments. This position will have the eastern half the US. Selling process includes sales prospecting, selling and on-boarding of direct new customers. Developing market reputation will include identifying and attending key market events, doing presentations and more to drive awareness of US Foods as a market leader.
Prospect, cold-call, and generate leads to recruit new business for US Foods in the Senior Living and Long-Term Care markets. Targets should cross 3 or more DCs and be valued at $4M+. Annual target will be $15M first year and $25M thereafter.
Serve as an ambassador for US Foods at industry conventions and functions of various Healthcare Associations in a highly visible capacity (addressing conventions, networking with industry leaders etc).
Develop, pursue and present US Foods program value to new customer targets within the highly specialized field of Senior Living and LTC – provide innovative customer solutions that set us apart in the market.
Analyze, synthesize and communicate results of market basket analyses to prospective customers. Identify causes of variances and anomalies in market basket data.
Create sales funnel and account targeting strategies for the Sr. Living and Long-Term Care segments of National Sales to meet assigned sales and profitability objectives.
Drive the adoption and implementation of SOUS. Track and monitor pipeline and Business Developments effectiveness in moving customers though the sales cycle.
Manage the relevant communication and education to field, sales personnel and Support Office staff to assure understanding of contract elements and business objectives to provide service excellence for particular market segment.
Identify and drive organizational alignment and resources to support value proposition and closing sales to include ROCs, Finance, Operations, Merchandising, GPO Support teams and Logistics.
Execute the Quality Sales Process (QSP) and support the new account set-up process to "on-board" new accounts closed to ensure successful transition to US Foods.
Understand and network with various GPO Sponsor organizations to support selling efforts. Ability to navigate potential conflicts between various GPO partners while selling US Foods Broadline Distribution Capabilities.
Identify and analyze market events and associations and determine which ones US Foods should participate. Engage with these organizations, gain speaker roles and help develop a broad understanding around US Foods leadership position in Healthcare. Many leads should be generated through this activity.
Internal: Direct contact with senior level staff and sales associates throughout the organization.
External: Executive level of potential customers.
Education/Training: Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience required.
Related Experience: Minimum 7 years foodservice sales experience required. Minimum 3 years experience working within the Senior Living/Long-Term Care arena, with a demonstrated understanding of that industry. Demonstrated positive customer prospecting and interfacing experience also required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills - relationship builder required. Must be self-directed and possess an array of initiative and interpersonal skills that allow the candidate to make a pronounced impact as “the face of US Foods” within the Senior Living and LTC segments – this includes; effectively networking with various associations, organizations, trade-shows etc, addressing large audiences of industry stakeholders and the ability to persuade the population of the merits of the US Foods brand and benefit. Must have demonstrated sales skills and ability to open accounts. Demonstrated ability to create and implement programs that enhance value to end user and organization. Ability to leverage relationships to achieve business goals, strategic thinking skills, strong business acumen and business maturity required. Must have excellent oral/written communication skills, be well organized with strong follow through. Strong leadership and team building skills with proven results orientation also required.
Frequent overnight travel required of 50% or more.
The following information is provided in accordance with the Colorado Pay Equity Act. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $96,700.00 and $128,900.00.
