The Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS)

Communications and Airspace Management Systems (CAMS) is seeking an Sr. Program Director to lead the Protected Communication Systems (PCS) Product Line’s Airborne Solutions product area while concurrently serving as the PCS Deputy Product Line Director.

The Executive Program Director will be responsible for the strategic leadership and overall execution of the Airborne Solutions business that accounts for $250M in annual revenues while driving Administrative Processes and Operational Execution of the PCS product line, accounting for $750M in annual revenues.

Responsibilities include leading the growing Airborne Solutions portfolio of programs and an organization of 14 Program Leadership personnel involved in the opportunity capture, product development, production, and life cycle sustainment of Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) terminals, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems, Protected Tactical SATCOM (PTS) systems, and related strategic national protected communication systems.

Additional responsibilities as the PCS Product Line Deputy Director include leading continuous improvement initiatives, chairing product line working groups, coordinating

administrative deliverables to CAMS and RIS, coordinating

and monitoring Facilities, IT, and Technology Investments, supporting Strategy development, and active participation in PCS Program Leadership Team and cross-functional talent development.

The preferred location for this position is Marlborough MA, however Largo FL and other US locations with secure Raytheon facilities are possible.

The Raytheon Protected Communications Systems customer base includes the Air Force, Army, Navy, strategic allied countries, and other US Prime contractors.

    Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading a team of program management directors and program managers in the day-to-day execution of all aspects of the PCS programs and Airborne Solutions portfolio.

  • Maintain and improve customer relationships with the DoD acquisition customer base, DoD industry primes and end-user communities, including FMS customers.

  • Drive program execution focus and profitable growth focus through a rigorous business cadence of program and functional reviews

  • Drive and execute plans for strategic investment to capture emerging market needs while maintaining core business base.

  • Pursue/capture new business both domestically and internationally.

  • Chair product line working groups and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Champion development of new Program Management and Functional talent.

  • Represent PCS Product line Director in external and internal meetings as necessary.

  • Travel: Approximately 30%

Required Skills:

  • 16+ combined years of professional related working experience in Program Management, Engineering leadership, and Capture Management

  • Progressive program management/ leadership experience with development, production, and sustainment programs. International Customer experience a plus

  • Proven experience in capturing new business/program(s), proposals, and customer engagement

  • Strong background and experience in program management techniques (full Profit & Loss responsibilities) and working in a matrixed environment

  • Proven demonstration of leadership competencies, especially influential communications, strategic thinking, cultivating innovation, collaboration, developing talent, customer focus, and driving results

  • Must obtain Raytheon Program Management Certification Level 3 within 1 year of employment

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret

Desired Skills:

  • Potential for Product Line or Mission Area leadership

  • SATCOM and/or technical domain knowledge

  • NC3 Mission System Integration domain and mission knowledge

  • Level 2 PM certification

  • Level II EV Certification

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with special access or SCI

  • MBA or Advanced Technical Degree preferred

Required Education (including Major):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related discipline

Please note that under the new RTX Salary Grade Structure - This position will be an E1 - Senior Director
