Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sales cycle.
As part of the Oracle sales team you will direct and manage pre-sales resources throughout the sales cycle. Provides technical/functional leadership to the sales team in the development and implementation of customer applications and customer products. Participates in account planning and strategy development. May publishes technical information of specific applications and/or technical articles. Works with management to define new products. Serves as the company liaison on specific technical projects with customers.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate business needs. Knowledge of software industry relating to all aspects of ebusiness solutions. Demonstrated leadership skills. Strong presentation skills. Ability to travel as needed. BA/BS degree or equivalent.

Job Description: Senior Manager, Presales Operations
As a Senior Presales Operations Manager within Oracle s Utilities Global Business Unit (UGBU), you will lead a team of global proposal managers to create high quality competitive proposals as well as manage proposal evaluation and metrics reporting.
You will be responsible for co-monitoring the pipeline of upcoming RFXs and facilitating the decision process on whether Oracle will participate in the bid/pursuit. Once a decision has been made to bid, your team is responsible for project managing competitive proposals from start to completion. You will also work closely with other sales support teams to streamline and fine-tune the proposal bid, no-bid, metrics reporting and production processes.
Specific tasks include
Directly manage a team of proposal managers.
Co-monitor the pipeline of RFXs, qualify requests for proposal managers, and assign proposal managers to opportunities. Once assigned, review work product, resolve blockers, and enhance work product.
Actively participate in and as required, lead as Proposal Manager on select strategic proposals.
Identify, prioritize and implement continuous improvement ideas with solicited input from management and other stakeholders.
Collect and disseminate client feedback on Oracle proposals working with Solution Management on win/loss calls.
Actively collaborate with the content messaging team to drive improvements across all proposal dimensions.
