The Senior Manager, Portfolio Communications will be responsible for developing and executing internal and external enterprise communications strategies and programs for the Sunovion portfolio that elevate the Company’s profile and brand in the U.S. and support business objectives. The successful candidate will help guide strategic communication initiatives and provide enterprise communication support for clinical and regulatory milestones, pre-launch and launch activities, and executive messaging related to the portfolio of marketed products and product candidates.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Portfolio Communications, the Senior Manager, Portfolio Communications will collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts in Corporate Communications, Clinical Development and Medical Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, Marketing, and Business Development. Summary of Responsibilities: The Senior Manager, Portfolio Communications will be responsible for developing and executing internal and external enterprise communications strategies and programs for the Sunovion portfolio that elevate the Company’s profile and brand in the U.S. and support business objectives. The successful candidate will help guide strategic communication initiatives and provide enterprise communication support for clinical and regulatory milestones, pre-launch and launch activities, and executive messaging related to the portfolio of marketed products and product candidates.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Portfolio Communications, the Senior Manager, Portfolio Communications will collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts in Corporate Communications, Clinical Development and Medical Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, Marketing, and Business Development. The Senior Manager will interact with Sunovion subsidiaries and partners as appropriate.

Essential Functions: Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

•Partner with Associate Director, Portfolio Communications to develop strategic communications plans around marketed products and pipeline programs and lead implementation for U.S. public relations activities.

•Collaborate with U.S. brand and project teams to ensure effective execution against key events, including major data milestones, regulatory milestones, advisory committee meetings, medical meetings, and approvals/launches. There may also be opportunities to coordinate with Sunovion global subsidiaries, Business Development and Alliance Management teams to align U.S. portfolio communications with corporate objectives.

•Draft, update and oversee development of portfolio and unbranded internal and external communications materials, including Q&A documents, press releases, standby statements, fact sheets, interview briefs, social media and multi-media tools, presentations, and business correspondence.

•Develop presentations, memos, articles, infographics and videos to inform employees and external audiences of portfolio progress.

•Manage Corporate Communications review and approval process (CCRC) as well as distribution of communications materials. This includes management of the CCRC content management system for reviewers.

•Provide communications guidance and collaboration associated with disease state awareness/education and other unbranded campaigns.

•Advise partners on internal communications opportunities and best practices across channels, including internal events

•Contribute to spokesperson preparation and coaching related to portfolio and disease state communications.

•Proactively build relationships with key health, consumer, business and trade media to raise visibility for the Company’s products/programs and leadership.

•Partner with functions throughout Sunovion to support communication and relationship building with key opinion leaders, patients, advocacy groups and associations.

•Collaborate within the Corporate Communications team on implementation of a strategic news bureau and thought leadership program; enhancing portfolio-related announcements on Sunovion.com, corporate social media channels and internal channels (e.g. the Source); portfolio pull-through for corporate materials and events such as the corporate narrative, corporate overview deck and the Annual Company Meeting.

•Contribute to opportunities for integrated PR to expand the visibility of Sunovion achievements and create new ways to tell the Sunovion story. Additionally, responsible to continue to enhance portfolio communications processes as the business evolves.

•Lead day to day management of agency partners in preparation of media relations materials and internal communications related to U.S. products/pipeline, disease states, and product-related issues in collaboration with Associate Director, Portfolio Communications.

•Manage day-to-day budgets, trackers and vendors in collaboration with Associate Director, Portfolio Communications.

•Provide Corporate Communications onsite support at medical meetings, advocacy events, commercial and research meetings as appropriate

Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelors

Experience Required: 5 - 7 Years

Knowledge & Skills (General and Technical): Bachelor's degree required (Liberal Arts/English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing)

5 - 7 years of progressive experience in corporate communications function, with track record of content development/management and work across traditional and digital/social channels.

3 - 5 years coordinating/managing product/pipeline communications within Pharma, Biotech, Medical Device or other healthcare related field and/or within a PR/Communications agency environment.

Pharmaceutical product/brand experience, product launch experience, understanding of FDA and EMA regulatory requirements, and market access issues, a plus.

Competencies:

Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure; responsive to needs of reporters.

Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Proven track record of successfully developing and executing plans, and project management.

Effective at building strong relationships with senior leadership and business partners.

Ability to perform at a high professional level with a degree of independence.

Work Environment: Corporate Headquarters.

10-15% travel requirement, domestic and international.
