Oracle Program Specialist, Global Cloud Platform & Developer Events in Marlborough, Massachusetts

Assist in the development and execution of corporate event marketing programs.

Assists in all aspects of pre-event program needs including but not limited to vendor selection and management, budget development and approvals, event registration and demand generation, venue selection and management (F & B, operations, etc.), event creative concept design and production. Manages all aspects of on-site event execution either directly or through outsourced vendors. Manages all post-event activities including development and execution of follow up plans for event attendees, uploading and tracking leads, wrap-up reports etc. Ensures that programs are executed successfully, efficiently and on budget so that customers experience a high degree of satisfaction in attending the event.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently with some assistance and guidance within defined policies and procedures. 2 years relevant experience. Marketing experience in the IT industry desired. Professional credentials in Marketing, Academic credentials desirable. Past experience in marketing, or event production/execution desirable.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

The Global Events Team is responsible for upholding that mission through a variety of customer engagement experiences, including all-digital events, 3rdparty trade shows, global flagship programs, hybrid events, and more. These events target Oracle customers, partners and thought leaders at all levels. The team’s main objective is to produce next-level event experiences that drive awareness of Oracle’s brand and deliver meaningful business results.

Position Description

The Program Specialist, Global Cloud Platform & Developer Events is a member of the Global Events Team and is responsible for the development and execution of both digital and – eventually – physical events across audiences. This position will have a vested interest in more than simply executing an event, but in embracing the latest creative tools and experiences to build meaningful customer engagement in both digital and physical environments. The individual hired for this role with bringa history of successful, end-to-end event delivery, as well as a technical understanding of the systems and processes necessary to execute a world-class experience as seen through the eyes of our attendees. In addition to the creative development of each experience, this role will assist with all aspects of planning, technical implementation, troubleshooting, and execution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support of all operational aspects of planning and executing digital events, includingplatform management, coordination of production and recordings with Oracle Studio, post event data analysis

  • Collaboration across a global team, including partnering with colleagues and vendors across regions to support and execute high-profile projects

  • Independent planning and execution of event activity and creative, demonstrating proficiency in cross-functional project management and delivery of outstanding customer event experiences end to end, including digital seminars, tradeshows/sponsorships, hospitality and executive events, and more

  • Building and maintenance of strong, positive working relationships with members of the extended Marketing team and other Oracle stakeholders in order to execute event-related marketing activities across disciplines

  • Execution of event activities on budget and on time, including but not limited to pre-event creative development, customer-optimized registration, environmental design, A/V and other production, and other logistics as required to create next-level customer experiences at each and every event

  • Processing of required documentation (contracts, POs, invoices, et all) and system entries/updates (attendance list uploads, receiving, et all) for all activities on time and in compliance with Oracle policies and regulations

  • Timely and professional communication of project status and updates, and prompt notification of any required adjustments, or concerns regarding timing, budgets, and other event details

  • Use of multiple Oracle proprietary systems and other applications (e.g. Excel, Word, MRM, etc.) to produce events, communications, reports, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of event management experience in both digital and physical event environments; general marketing and communications background a plus

  • Solid understanding of the planning, negotiation, and execution of digital and physical event and marketing activities

  • High level of creativity, energy, drive, enthusiasm and commitment

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work confidently and respectfully at all levels of an organization, both internally and externally

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with an outstanding attention to detail and a focus on results

  • Works well independently with a demonstrated history of building collaborative, lasting relationships that deliver business results

  • Experience in working in a virtual team environment

  • Desire to work in a high-pressured, fast-moving and challenging environment, delivering on deadline and on budget

  • Proficient in a variety of applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), and the ability to pick up new applications and processes quickly
