Hologic Product Director, Global Mammography & Biopsy Solutions in Marlborough, Massachusetts
The Global Mammography & Biopsy Solutions PRODUCT DIRECTOR will have responsibility for driving global product initiatives within the high growth Mammography and Biopsy Capital Franchise. This role will be accountable for developing and executing on initiatives that grow and strengthen Hologic’s Screening portfolio, achieve revenue objectives and support product sustaining activities. Specifically, the Product Director will have responsibility for:
Building and executing on a strategic plan focused on organic and inorganic growth of Hologic’s mammography and biopsy capital portfolio
Partnering closely with R&D, PMO, Sales, Medical Education, Clinical Teams and other Marketers throughout new product development to ensure our new products are meeting our customers’ needs
Gathering product performance insights from customers on products post-launch to inform new product development and sustaining activities
Leading or supporting communications with key opinion leaders and validation of product testing during development and launch.
Gathering clinical insights on competitive products and driving product positioning and messaging recommendations to meet our customer’s needs and differentiate Hologic from the competition
Aligning product recommendations to Global Breast Strategy in partnership with the Senior Product Director
Circulating and spreading the rationale of such new products and positioning to Marketing and Sales Lead Teams
Support the Senior Product Director on initiatives that strengthen margins, improve the product pipeline, and grow market share to support commercial results
Partnering with Sales Team, Medical Education, Customer & Field Marketing, and Tradeshow team to execute medical education, promotional plans, and key events.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Product Development – Contribute to multigenerational portfolio plans aligned to Global mammography and biopsy strategy. Responsible for contributing to product scope, providing design inputs, validating product design, and development of launch messaging and materials.
Customer Insights & Analytics – Develop deep understanding of market needs and drivers through frequent customer interaction and market research. Complete market opportunity assessments, pricing analysis, demand forecasting, and measure ROI on marketing initiatives.
Product Launch – Responsible for partnering with downstream marketing (US Solutions/Brand) to lead impactful worldwide product launches. Specific responsibilities include the development of brand strategy, marketing materials for all key stakeholders (salesforce, physicians, hospitals, patients, payers, etc.), price strategy, product training plan (salesforce & customers), product forecasting, inventory roll-out plan, sales tools, etc.
Business Planning & Execution – Work closely with leadership to develop business plans and collaborate with cross-functional areas to execute plan. Apply understanding of the customer clinical needs to develop well positioned market messaging that can drive customer behavior. Partner with the sales force and sales training functions to effectively deploy programs.
Brand Strategy – Development and execution of global brand initiatives that support the Global Breast Strategies with products, programs, and other key initiatives including establishment of value proposition, targeting & segmentation, positioning, global branding, and lifecycle management.
General Business Leadership – Influences and responds to cross-functional stakeholders including Medical Education, Sales, Finance, R&D, and others to deliver maximum effectiveness of the Marketing organization. Partner with Integrated Brand Marketing, Customer & Field Marketing and Tradeshow groups to build promotional plans around key events and provide on-site support. Partner closely with Sales Teams to gather input on customer needs and ensure strong alignment with product and company strategy. Be responsive to requests from customers and sales.
Commercial Results - Achieve U.S. business plan objectives of sales, gross profit, and price on an annual basis. Inform strategy and support needs of the International division in a Global Franchise model. Manages lifecycle of product portfolio and marketing program spend within budget.
Must be able to lead and participate on cross-functional teams, gain alignment and drive decision making with colleagues on the product strategy and tactical plans; understand, interpret and communicate commercial and competitive implications of complex technical/clinical/regulatory data; interact with R&D colleagues on scientific issues; and demonstrate excellent strategic thinking and strong communication skills.
Bachelor’s Degree is required
MBA is preferred
5+ Years of focused Marketing experience, preferably in the healthcare and med device/tech space
Strong organization, analytical and synthetic skills
Strong communication (written and oral) and leadership skills
Ability to work in teams and coordinate teamwork
Ability to work in tight collaboration with managers and cross-functional partners
Excellent methodological skills for the design, management and follow-up of customer needs investigations
Computer skills: Microsoft Office
- Global experience working with remote teams
This position requires up to 35% travel (domestic and global), including overnight and some weekend travel. Travel percentage could be higher during product commercialization activities.
