General Electric Market Access Manager, US Policy & Reimbursement in Marlborough, Massachusetts
Job Description Summary
This role will have primary responsibilities for US product strategies that improve market access with government and commercial payers and providers. The successful candidate will have a unique mix of skills, including the ability to develop and implement business strategies that maximize the financial impact and opportunities for GEHC products. You will establish and maintain relationships with GEHC stakeholders, external organizations, and work with third-party specialist vendors to identify opportunities and execute projects to achieve short- and long-term pricing, reimbursement and coverage objectives for existing and new products.
Our Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business is the number one global supplier of contrast media and molecular imaging agents used to enhance medical imaging exams. Used throughout all major disease area diagnostic and treatment pathways, PDx products support three patients every second around the world.
Roles and Responsibilities
Identify and analyze changes in the US market environment to determine the implications for the PDx organization, collaborating with key US stakeholders to ensure market access strategy alignment and implementation.
Develop overall regional market access strategies for existing and new PDx products in alignment with global market access team members and global strategies.
Ensure regional evidence generation requirements (RWE, analytics & HEOR) are included in global evidence generation roadmaps.
Ability to model various reimbursement scenarios and opportunities and potential impact.
Provide strategic input with qualitative and quantitative information to support US lobbying efforts and legislative initiatives, including working closely with key industry trade associations, patient organizations and medical societies; effectively communicate economic value messages, health economic plans and economic study results undertaken by GE Healthcare and by other organizations to internal and external audiences.
Develop, influence and monitor payer policy, coding frameworks and regulation, working directly with scientific, clinical, government and commercial payer authorities relevant to US; attend and represent business at relevant scientific, clinical, government and commercial payer policy meetings as a component of implementing priority US strategy
Directly partner with Commercial, Medical Affairs and other internal teams to collaborate compliantly on product strategies and programs as appropriate.
Responsible for putting mechanisms in place for policy interpretation and recommendations to the business such as CMS policy/transmittals including rule review
Serve as a strategic business partner with field sales leadership to establish priorities in regional work plan for physician education and the identification of payor coverage expansion opportunities through frequent communication and quarterly business reviews
Master's degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in US healthcare, medical device or pharmaceutical sector
Comprehensive knowledge of reimbursement rules, critical success factors and processes and be able to advise senior leadership succinctly on the impact of various coding, coverage and commercial and government reimbursement policies.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment; involves and motivates others to work toward team goals.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders and payers, good conflict management and negotiation skills.
Ability to analyze complex issues to develop actionable and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations.
Relevant experience in market access for at least 5 years.
Strong oral and written communication skills
