The team member is accountable for executing external licensing management – both in and out-licensing strategies – in alignment with business goals. The position will be a member of a distributed team of approximately eight technology scouting and licensing professionals.
Handles identification, evaluation, cultivation and management of technology in-licensing needs.
Responsible for Cytiva technology out-licensing program, including the out-licensing revenue targets and reporting across the company.
During external partner cultivation phases provides significant contributions including strategic rationale, due diligence, business case and term sheet development.
Team member during Open Innovation (OI) and external technology acquisition to a successful handoff of all projects to the Commercial Teams who will own subsequent Product Development projects.
Coordinates cross-functional due diligence efforts of external technology partners.
Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Acts as a liaison with external partners, associations, industry forums, including key university Industrial Liaison programs in an effort to broker future out-licensing revenue opportunities.
Who you are!
Degree in science or business is required.
Proven understanding of technology licensing process, marketing, patent management and the negotiation of license agreements that is typically gained through related licensing or technology transfer experience.
Experience in consumables supply, instrumentation, medical device, healthcare or industrial Filtration / separations science industry.
Experience and knowledge with the Biologics drug development industry is a benefit.
Record of critical thinking, eye for business and execution for results
Demonstrated ability to connect with and optimally influence senior level management, executives, key clients, and partners at all levels.
Previous experience in licensing contract reviews and external party cultivation preferred.
Ability to structure and negotiate intellectual property agreements, including in-licenses and out-licenses, option agreements, and collaboration agreements and other related contracts.
Excellent communication skills in order persuade and advise others.
Can deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidential, proprietary, and time-sensitive information relative to licensing function
