Aspen Aerogels is a rapidly growing aerogel technology company founded in 2001 to capitalize on patented advances in aerogel manufacturing. Aspen’s extensive portfolio of proprietary aerogel products are manufactured at scale and sold worldwide in the Electric Vehicle, Energy Infrastructure, Sustainable Building Materials, and Power Generation industries. Aspen is a Tier 1/2 Automotive supplier of PyroThin™ thermal barriers, and our Pyrogel™ and Cryogel™ products are used by virtually all leading petrochemical and refining company across more than 50 countries. This position develops and designs the aesthetics, visual design and/or layout of product artwork, component design, marketing materials and packaging to enhance product image. Collaborates with project teams to plan, analyze, organize and execute assigned projects. Diagnoses, by meeting with employees, consultants and/or vendors, to assess effectiveness of product imagery and presentation needs. Manages relationships with external sources relating to design issues. Requires knowledge of industry relevant multimedia software.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conceive, create, and drive design solutions for digital and print advertisements, marketing materials, sales enablement materials, infographics, trade show materials and web graphics

  • Ability to translate business goals into innovative, meaningful and differentiated digital, interactive, social and viral brand experiences

  • Lead and demonstrate craftsmanship on all phases of design process from conceptual designs, sketches, design specs, storyboards, persona/scenario development, information hierarchy, wireframes and prototypes

  • Reviewing, updating, and maintaining the company’s visual representation in all aspects of design including typography, composition, and color

  • Support product owners and team members by understanding key business objectives and setting design strategy accordingly

  • Catalog all artwork and develop asset management systems for easy referencing and repurposing

  • Manage the creative process with external agencies

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA in graphic design, visual design, communications design, art direction, or related field

  • 3+ years industry experience with design and marketing at a B2B company

  • Skilled with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

  • A clean and modern aesthetic with an eye towards innovative designs that provoke attention while communicating brand values

  • Understand the requirements in creative briefs, ask questions, and identify gaps so you can design exceptional visual assets from the start

  • Creative and innovative thinking—you can distill complex concepts into simple, thoughtful designs

  • Strong ability to make strategic decisions and meet deadlines

  • Presentation skills to sell the creative vision to both internal stakeholders and external agencies

  • An online portfolio or samples showing multi-platform, standout work
