What You'll Do

Purpose: This leader will report into Genomic Medicine Commercial GM and work closely with the Viral Vector General Manager and other key leaders across the business to develop and build our viral vector business. This role requires outstanding leadership, business operation, negotiating and communication skills to be a successful business leader and influential team player. This position will manage and build the commercial workflow specialist team focusing on selling the end-to-end solution specific to viral vector workflow, align with global strategy and will execute on current and long-term business growth plans

  • Financially accountable to set and achieve the quarterly and yearly Global Operating Plan targets and is accountable for timely and accurate forecasting of pipeline and sales per the normal reporting cycles within the business unit

  • Establish commercial operation mechanism to maintain an accurate forecast of short- and long-term business opportunities through co-ordination of all stakeholders, utilizing SFDC, QilkSense and other digital tools.

  • Regularly assess business development plans and gain an understanding of market shifts.

  • Creation and execution of a global strategic commercial plan and roadmap that ensures continued growth and market share for Cytiva in the Viral Vector business through understanding the market trends, identifying opportunities for strategic alliances, continually optimizing the organizational structure to penetrate new as well as established customers and utilizing digital tools to improve customer intimacy.

  • Work collaboratively and lead successfully across many business functions and co-ordinate with other Cytiva business leaders to ensure that optimal communication systems and processes are created, as well as, aligned across all functions including Account and Sales and Services teams, Enterprise, Commercial Operations, Marketing and Supply Chain.

  • Define the goals for customer success and work with business counterparts to drive a customer centric culture of performance for our customers

  • Identify and drive global business development transactions, including out-licenses, commercial-use collaborations, and ongoing partnerships.

  • Prepare and present business cases based on forecasts, valuations, market landscape, competitive intelligence, and other key findings to support strategic decisions and recommendations related to development, finance, and legal departments

  • Responsible for talent management to ensure the continued development for direct reports

  • Partner closely with the human resources organization in developing organizational capabilities through succession planning, organizational assessment, identification of key skill gaps, talent acquisition and talent development strategies that link with business goals.

    Who You Are

  • MBA or PhD in a science-based field, such as Biology or Chemistry, or equivalent experience required

  • Extensive experience (15+ years) in Sales/Marketing with in-depth knowledge of Life Science pharma industry, decision makers and sales cycles. A plus with similar viral vector industry experience

  • Proven leadership skills including the ability to coach and influence within a matrix environment and to motivate cross functional teams to achieve business goals

  • Strong sense of urgency with a demonstrated record of meeting commitments

  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, outside experts, consultants, and potential partners

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines

  • Willingness and ability to travel

  • Strongly compliance driven
