Sunovion Exec Director New Product Planning in Marlborough, Massachusetts

Sunovion Pharmaceuticals is looking for an Executive Director of New Product Planning to join our team in Marlborough, MA. We will consider qualified candidates at the VP level.

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Strategy, this individual will be responsible for leading the Sunovion New Products Planning team.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead, coach and develop the New Products Planning (NPP) team of direct reports.

  • Serve as, or lead individuals serving as, the Commercial Program Lead for all internal Sunovion pipeline programs, through Phase II.

  • Serve as, or lead individuals serving as, the Commercial Program Lead for all LCM opportunities for in-line brands that do not fall within the current NDA, also through phase II.

  • In support of business development activities, serve as, or lead individuals serving as, the commercial due diligence process for all external in-line and pipeline opportunities for all phases.

  • Influence and inform the annual portfolio prioritization process by providing an objective Commercial perspective on Sunovion and Global R&D programs.

  • Serve as a partner and trusted advisor to key DSP Business Units to support and inform business decisions as they relate to US or Global commercial opportunity assessments.

  • Collaborate with functional area experts to develop standardized best practices for all NPP forecasts & valuation assessments.

  • Support Commercial integration of any external assets as they are transitioned into the company.Participate as a member of the Commercial Executive Team

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in a scientific discipline plus an advanced degree (e.g. PhD, MBA, MD) or equivalent experience required.

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience, including marketing strategy and launch experience (e.g. marketing, market research, new products planning).

  • Strategy, planning, and cross-functional leadership are mandatory.

  • Prior direct experience in a market analysis and strategy setting (e.g. management consulting, brand strategy lead, medical strategy development) required.

  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. pharmaceutical product planning and execution including new product launches, product marketing, and sales required. Global experience preferred.

  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. pharmaceutical clinical and regulatory development process required. Global experience preferred.

  • Ability to interact widely and effectively within the company across departments and management levels.

  • Ability to manage ambiguous environments and develop and execute action plans in areas without prior precedent.

  • Experience working cross-culturally preferred.

  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
