Oracle Competitive Intelligence Manager in Marlborough, Massachusetts

Overlay sales personnel providing specialist product expertise to the sales force.

Manages and directs a staff of solution specialists and/or managers in providing specific industry or product expertise to facilitate the closing of deals within sales territory. Establishes and communicates departmental objectives and implements plans to ensure attainment of business objectives. Works closely with sales management to ensure proper utilization of resources and provides justification for additional resource requests. Oversees the Interaction with sales team to architect the solution, and develop and execute solution strategies for market. Manages teams in the sales process for establishing market visibility and deal visibility. Develops forecasts. Participates in industry/product functions, seminars and round tables to remain up to date on industry or product knowledge. May deliver presentations/solutions to high level clients and industry conference attendees. May provide training to field sales on industry/solutions.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Summary:

The Manager of Competitive Intelligence will be the driving force in understanding competitive dynamics that will inform and shape a winning battle strategy in the field. This position will be responsible for managing the North American MM/Corp team which includes staff that supports Direct, AMO, and Channel sales opportunities. This role supports the development of competitive insights in support of hand to hand field combat for our direct and channel partner salesforce. Teamwork is how it’s done and this is a team that knows how to work together and drive positive results in the field. The position requires a strong, sharp, and creative driver that can cut through the noise and focus the CI staff on the right priorities to arm our salesforce with the knowledge and insight they need to beat the competition. Insights are derived through the merging of internal knowledge and traditional external secondary resources and they are delivered in various formats including direct prospect content, presentations, written documentation and training/enablement. The Manager is responsible for building a strong rapport with all sales leadership, reps and other senior leaders to make sure that the team is delivering the right insights at the right time in the right format. The Manager needs to have strong multi-tasking skills and thrive in an environment of high energy and constant urgency.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of competitive intelligence analysts who are collaborative high achievers and provide continuous coaching and mentorship

  • Design and manage the team’s strategic and financial goals making sure the team focuses on ARR, pipeline and win rate.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the senior leadership

  • Overall oversight of all insights developed and delivered to the field – making sure the field knows the latest and greatest there is to know

  • Development and delivery of field enablement intiatives in partnership with the sales enablement organization

  • Participate in roadshows designed and delivered for various audiences including direct and channel sales

  • Constantly create new ways of delivering field insights

  • Produce senior executive briefings laying out win themes and competitive differentiators

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Passion for excellence and attention to detail, determination to continuously improve results and contribution

  • 2-5 years managerial experience

  • Strong desire to win

  • Collaborative with a can-do attitude

  • Managed complex projects, and prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • 20 years of experience in market and competitive intelligence or comparable required

  • Understanding of sales objectives and methodology

  • Ability to analyze information and synthesize it for broad consumption

  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter

  • Demonstrated aggressive, persuasive, and creative problem solving skills.
