The Associate Director of Market Insights will have primary responsibility for all aspects of market insights, competitive intelligence and secondary analysis for Respiratory franchise, including the identification of market research needs, and the design, execution and interpretation of market research studies and the analysis of syndicated, secondary market data for performance measurement and market understanding purposes. This also includes responsibility for aspects of intelligence collection, integration, analysis and communication in order to provide timely, actionable intelligence to Sunovion internal customers that influences the strategic business decision making of Sunovion Brand Management and ensure that the evolving external environment is incorporated in strategy development and tactical interventions.

Summary of Responsibilities: The Associate Director of Market Insights will have primary responsibility for all aspects of market insights, competitive intelligence and secondary analysis for Respiratory franchise, including the identification of market research needs, and the design, execution and interpretation of market research studies and the analysis of syndicated, secondary market data for performance measurement and market understanding purposes. This also includes responsibility for aspects of intelligence collection, integration, analysis and communication in order to provide timely, actionable intelligence to Sunovion internal customers that influences the strategic business decision making of Sunovion Brand Management and ensure that the evolving external environment is incorporated in strategy development and tactical interventions.

Essential Functions: •Have primary responsibility for all aspects of market research for Respiratory franchise, including the identification of market research needs, and the design, execution and interpretation of market research studies or the analysis of syndicated, secondary market data for performance measurement and market understanding purposes.

•Work directly with Marketing, Managed Markets, or Sales personnel in the development of product marketing strategies and tactics, and will interact with extended brand team and Sr. Management to present analyses recommendations needed to guide high-level decisions affecting product positioning, product potential and/or marketing. Assure that all relevant information from other functions (e.g. Business Analytics, Forecasting, Business Intelligence, Controlling) has been integrated into analyses.

•Provide Brand, Sales and Managed Markets Management with actionable intelligence about the competitive environment, marketplace dynamics, customers, technological changes, political, economic, social dynamics and other external forces driving opportunities and threats that could impact our business. Ensure that the processes for determining that the Therapeutic Team’s key intelligence needs are developed and maintained.

•Integrate Customer insights and Business Intelligence Results into Brand/Therapeutic/Customer Channel Business Plans. Work directly with Sales and Managed Markets leadership in the development of customer and commercial model strategies and tactics, and interact with extended Therapeutic/Brand teams and Senior Management to present analyses and recommendations. Assure that all relevant information from other functions (e.g. Marketing, Forecasting, Marketing Research,) has been integrated into analyses.

•Lead (recruit, hire, coach, train, manage, develop and discipline) a staff of professionals in our core Competencies and Marketing Research knowledge and skills. Complete Career Planning and competency assessment to ensure the professional development of direct report members of the Marketing Research group.

•Ensure that corporate standards of excellence and compliance are upheld.

•Share knowledge of research methodologies and high quality vendors with other managers in the department.

•Establish Special Projects for Marketing Research to support the company’s changing process and execution needs. Participate in Special projects at the direction of management.

Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelors

Experience Required: 5 - 7 Years

Knowledge & Skills (General and Technical): •BA/BS degree, masters preferred.

•Significant working experience in all types of market research techniques, both qualitative and quantitative, including multivariate analytical techniques

•Minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical market research experience, or equivalent analytical experience in related pharmaceutical function (sales analytics, forecasting, etc.).

•Strong planning and organizational skills.

•Excellent analytical skills.

•Strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization (verbal, written and presentation skills).

•Ability to work with other disciplines in an international environment.

•Experience with marketing research to optimize the launch of new products preferred.

•Strong interpersonal, managerial and leadership abilities.
