Emerson Tool Room Machinist in Mansfield, Massachusetts

Setup and operate manual milling and turning machines, conversational lathes, surface grinders, large and small vertical turret lathes, large radial arm drill, and all other supporting equipment to complete processes in the toolroom/machinist area.

Manufacture items to close tolerances using routings, blueprint drawings, digital instructions, verbal communications, and processing of non-conforming products through the Material Review Board process.

Verify dimensions of machined components using appropriate and applicable measurement gages, tools, techniques, and methods.

Read and follow Department Operating Instructions, instructions contained within routing operations and component route sheets, and adhere to all applicable quality manuals, procedures, and policies.

Access electronic information online and in network files using applicable computer software and edge applications like Oasis, eDocs, PSN, and others as needed.

When applicable, assist Manufacturing Engineering on fixture and tooling design and manufacturing of tooling such as but not limited to Hydro fixtures and spindle pressing fixtures.

Complete move transactions and sign off on routings and component route sheets to document completion of a task in Oracle and required paperwork.

Material configuration and composition of items as follows though not limited to are:

Castings, Forgings, Bar stock and weldments

Carbon steel, Stainless steel, Aluminum, Stellite, Hastelloy, Inconel

As necessary perform all aligned tasks with department responsibilities and department needs.

For this job you will need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 3 years of machining experience

  • Experience Operating manual lathes and mills to produce high-precision parts according to blueprints and specifications.

  • Understanding of Geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing
