Cardinal Health Strategy & Analytics Manager in Mansfield, Massachusetts

The Manager of Strategy & Analytics, will own analytics and strategy and manage a team of direct reports. The team will run a wide variety of on-going and ad hoc projects and analytics to inform daily strategy as well as longer-term budget/forecasting decisions made by VPs and directors. Additionally, this role will own strategy, analytics, and communications for executive-level projects related to purchasing, including customer, internal, and board-level presentations. The person will work cooperatively with leadership and directly with investor relations.

Responsibilities:

Lead and champion data & analytics innovation

  • Drive digitizing and systematizing internal knowledge and integrate them into standard processes
  • Lead internal innovation efforts to make decisions faster and more effectively
  • Lead change management efforts to help adopt new information assets (e.g., dashboards)

Manage team

  • Lead team-based approach to achieving better performance through strategic initiatives
  • Provide direction on ongoing work/analytics/presentations and feedback on tasks
  • Review team’s work and balance workloads across team members
  • Give guidance for working with variety of senior leaders in organization (e.g., how to present work, manage expectations, and deliver key messages)

Oversee market intelligence to inform strategy

  • Understand product and market changes and implications for the strategy, using available industry data sources
  • Oversee research on customers (e.g., develop perspective on customer M&A activity)
  • Oversee research on competitor actions and implications
  • Oversee research on risk of portfolio

Manage and support departmental strategic projects

  • Run or support a variety of projects across the organization
  • Manage review of portfolio (e.g., annual cost savings, potential changes in exclusivity, modeling changes in purchasing methodologies) and standing customer appointments
  • Identify pipeline opportunities
  • Review customer background materials to prepare executives for customer meetings
  • Manage ad hoc analyses

Review data and design and build presentations to support executive-level discussions

  • Manage creation of presentations across a variety of topics, including a storyline, key messaging, graphical representation of data, and tailoring to the audience

Support budgeting and forecasting activities

  • Support budgeting activities
  • Compile data from multiple sources (e.g., product pipeline, variance analysis) into meaningful communication with proposal for recommended action

Qualifications:

  • MBA (or equivalent) preferred, and 3-5 years of related experience
  • Track record of managing & developing people
  • Consulting or prior strategy experience highly preferred
  • Analytical and strategic thinking
  • Ability to design and build effective executive-level presentations is required
  • Ability to work with variety of stakeholders, particularly executives
  • Expertise in PowerPoint and Excel (e.g., modeling capabilities)
  • Basic experience with relational databases
  • Either existing expertise or willingness to learn new analytical tools (e.g., SQL, Alteryx, Microsoft Power Suite, Tableau)
  • Basic experience with programming languages is a plus (e.g., VBA, Python, R)
  • Experience with innovation methods is a plus (e.g., human centered design, systems thinking)
