Qualified candidates will need to have excellent communication skills, able to thrive in a remote team environment as part of an internal design team within a national company and work independently with minimal guidance. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and flexible.

The primary role of the MAC Production Artist is to assist with the production of benefit related communication materials (both print and digital) and perform modifications as needed, create and develop projects in accordance with client standards and guidelines. Must be creative and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment in order to meet tight deadlines. This includes, but is not limited to, typesetting, content manipulation and preflight. There may be a future opportunity to help support the creative processes and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Update, edit and proof benefit related materials (postcards, brochures, newsletters, posters, guides, emails, banners, etc.)

  • Partner with Designers to plan, analyze, organize and execute assigned projects

  • Manage the preflight of final design files as requested

  • Review marked up PDFs and make content corrections (extensive at times), work efficiently through tight time frames and with a high level of accuracy

  • Build and maintain relationships with Designers, Production and Account Managers

  • Attend internal project, weekly Production and Design meetings

  • Utilize job tracking system (Mtivity) and adhere to work flow processes

  • Support sales opportunities with updates to PowerPoint presentations

Essential Skills/Knowledge/Certification:

  • Minimum five years of professional work experience in a design environment producing communication materials

  • Experience working with templates and style sheets; including page and content formatting, placement of photography and artwork; producing multiple versions

  • Must possess the ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment where production speed and accuracy are critical

  • Must be team-oriented, maintain a positive attitude and energy and work well with others

  • Knowledge of all steps required for the print process and an understanding of production methods

  • Demonstrates thoroughness and attention to detail; Focuses on continuous improvement in all aspects of the job

  • Proficient in Macintosh OS X based hardware and software systems that include: Adobe Creative Cloud applications: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. Microsoft for MAC applications: Office, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Adjusts well to shifting priorities and responsibilities

  • Understanding of fundamental design principles and disciplines that affect typography, color use, layout, composition, hierarchy and balance

  • Strong collaboration skills and customer-service orientation. Can take direction and apply feedback

  • Ability to apply brand and style guidelines to solve design problems

  • Strong project and time management skills in order to meet production schedule deadlines

  • Capable of presenting information clearly and effectively to internal and client teams

  • Demonstrates creativity of thought, curiosity and a desire to learn


4 year college degree preferred or equivalent experience
