General Electric Strategic Deal Manager in Lynn, Massachusetts

Role Summary:

Responsible for providing all the aspects of deal management, proposal development, and compliance checks for Current Hardware and Software solutions. Requires pre-qualifications of opportunities, interaction with sales & services leadership, customers, channel & other cross functional business teams. Must have a demonstrated track record of delivering high quality commercial proposals through creating solution architectures & recommendations.

Essential Responsibilities:

Additionally, as the Strategic Deal Manager, Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and deliver commercial proposals and for non-transactional, complex proposals, contracts, and tenders in North America

  • Manage customer specification review, proposal development, contract development and negotiations, including complex software sales and service agreements

  • Responsible for complete life cycle development and on-time delivery of high quality solutions proposals aligned with customer expectations and business profitability / risk profiles

  • This may include, but is not limited to

  • Request for proposal reviews

  • proposal planning

  • risk reviews

  • solution estimates & pricing

  • deal analytics / reviews

  • 3rd party coordination & negotiations

  • technical & commercial documentation

  • and analysis of terms and conditions

  • Lead and drive the details related to technical, financial and commercial inputs to support strategy development and risk management

  • Act as a liaison between Sales Manager, Solution Engineers, Product Managers, and Services teams to identify common architectures and estimation concepts

  • Act as a legal liaison to manage the creation of a winning proposal / contract that aligns with Current's delegations of authority

  • Assist with customer negotiations from both a functional / technical and commercial perspective

  • Review customer purchase orders to ensure compliance with approved price levels, terms and cycle commitments etc. to coordinate handed off to Project execution teams

  • Manage storage and retrieval of all documentation and record keeping associates with a given proposal using standard tools and infrastructure resources

  • Use salesforce.com to manage proposal workflow and to develop pipeline forecasts

  • Provide strategic and tactical commercial planning

  • Provide continuous improvement of solutions life cycle processes and methodologies

  • Please Note: Work Location listed is Other (Boston, MA. However, this position may also be eligible at our Cleveland, OH location Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 years of Commercial experience

  • OR

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical solution architectural experience with full range of software products ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

  • Fluency in English Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Commercial experience, preferably with proposal development

  • Knowledge of / background in software and expertise in targeted building industries of Smart Buildings, Energy Management Systems, Asset Monitoring, Advanced Analytics, Remote Monitoring

  • Prior experience in sales, field services, commercial finance, contract negotiation and execution

  • Prior experience with contract drafting-managing both commercial and legal terms within a customer agreement

  • Energized by high profile / high impact tasks and assignments

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Strong integrity and demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for strengthening overall Commercial compliance and reduce risk in commercial proposal processes
