About the role:

Join Takeda as a Vice President, US IBD Franchise, where you will lead all marketing efforts for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) franchise within Takeda’s US Gastroenterology Business Unit (GIBU). You will also be responsible for the development, coordination and execution of product life cycle management (LCM) plans for IBD brands, including marketed and development stage products. As part of the GIBU team, you will work with a variety of stakeholders to recommend changes in the marketing philosophy/policy and will align the appropriate business goals and the development of marketing competencies within the GIBU.

How you will contribute:

  • Serve as a core member of the Global Program Team (GPT) and the Global Product Leadership Team, responsible for US commercial input and leadership to develop and align global strategic business plans, life-cycle management strategies, etc. for US IBD franchise

  • Partner closely with the Global Program Management team, including regulatory, medical, and clinical science colleagues, to develop and gain approval for the execution of all LCM plans, ensuring alignment with overall brand strategy. Work closely with all functions (R&D, USBU) to coordinate all elements related to product success (product claim profile, supporting study design, FDA submission strategy, commercial/sample packaging, launch plans, sales force sizing/execution, promotional messaging/planning, etc.).

  • Lead the Commercial Planning Process and the cross-functional team (medical, sales, etc.) charged with developing the annual plans for brands within the IBD franchise

  • Develop marketing campaigns and messaging platforms, supported by deep customer insights, to achieve franchise objectives across stakeholder and customer groups, including possible new product and/or indication launches

  • Interface with medical, regulatory and legal to develop marketing materials and promotions. · Direct and oversee marketing staff in the implementation of national marketing programs, including development of marketing principles and competencies across team.

  • Oversee relationships with public relations and advertising firms used to promote Takeda IBD products

  • Drive delivery of innovative marketing platforms, leverage digital technology, create and deliver customer/patient support solutions, develop and communication clinical and economic value propositions to various stakeholders,

  • Work closely with sales leadership to develop and implement tactical programs that optimize Takeda’s selling efforts and sales.

  • Work with managed markets to develop and implement pricing, access, and contracting strategies across payer and account customer sets

  • Create and manage the franchise marketing budget, including advertising, media, public relations, and market research.

  • Serve as a key member of the GIBU Leadership Team

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 12+ years' experience in commercial pharma roles, the majority of which include strategic marketing and marketing leadership experience in the US (including people management) in specialty and/or rare

Preferred:

  • MBA

  • Commercial pharmaceutical biologics experience

  • Commercial pharmaceutical sales experience

  • Therapeutic knowledge – an in-depth understanding of the disease state, treatment paradigms and future trends in IBD markets

  • Product knowledge – comprehensive understanding of the medical /therapeutic usage of IBD products

  • US commercial pharmaceutical launch experience

  • LOE extension experience

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$252,000.00 - $396,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
