Sr Manager, IBD Analytics Strategy & Operations
About the role:
Serve as an integral, cross-functional, partner responsible for providing actionable insights into customer behavior, using expertise in advanced analytic techniques (including ability to appropriately manipulate raw claims data into usable HCP and patient profiles) to enhance strategic decision making for brand teams by conducting national, sub-national and patient level analysis.
Leverage skills in data analytics to build insightful, creative and continuously improving deliverables to the sales and marketing teams and other key stakeholders across the Takeda Gastroenterology Business Unit. Proactively identify business questions (e.g., market trends, product performance, marketing campaign development (provider and consumer) and performance, market access analytics, sales force organization design, targeting/call planning) and determine the optimal approach to answer them through data, analytics, market research, etc.
Bring a consultative approach to working with stakeholders. Work closely with a cross-functional team to analyze data, synthesize insights and present findings to stakeholders
Be a trusted partner within the GIBU for sales and marketing. Is an advisor across the commercial organization for implementing effective analytics and reporting solutions to deliver clear, accurate actionable insights with a relentless focus on accuracy.
Be a leader and liaison between the GI Analytics. Sales, Marketing and commercial operations teams. Has responsibility for communicating requirements for each ad hoc request, developing the project plan, and coordinating and preparing analysis that will be incorporated directly into ongoing reporting, promotional effectiveness, special projects, annual brand planning, reimbursement process and other critical team decision processes.

How you will contribute:
- Leads the development of a holistic cross-functional IBD analytics point of view to address specified ad hoc sales, marketing and/or cross-functional business questions that require the integration of output from marketing analytics, sales analytics, decision science, and primarily market research. Creates value by adding own and synthesizing groups' insights into actionable reports with insights from the results, the "why" of the visual information.
Leads reporting projects that enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of the Marketing, Sales Analytics, Sales Force Effectiveness and/or Patient Services department in business analytics and data driven insights. Identify and explore new data sources and establish reporting recommendations.
Ensure best practices in marketed product analytics by serving as a thought leader, providing strategic consulting and market perspective to key business stakeholders on strategies and risks, including significant trends, competitive positioning and consumer decision making drivers based on thorough trend, segment and marketing analysis
Partner directly with leadership in Marketing and Sales to help develop strategies and provide input into key strategic decisions based on sound analytics. Delivers answers to key business questions using storytelling techniques and works closely with leadership to establish metrics and KPIs
Perform and manage the creation of detailed, comprehensive quantitative data analyses.
Provide an objective and detailed understanding of current and future markets, product performance, customers, and competitors to inform GI product life cycle management, support the commercialization of pipeline assets and guide product and disease area strategy,
Build strong relationships with internal partners (Marketing/Brand, Sales, Strategy, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Commercial Operations and Forecasting), collaborating effectively to ensure team success.
Work with analysts to ensure that appropriate analytical techniques are fully leveraged. Knowledge of segmentation, regression analysis, promotion response measurement and data manipulation desired.
Take lead role in working with other cross-functional departments (e.g., IT, Data Governance, Managed Markets, Incentive Compensation, Sales Reporting) to ensure data quality, compliance and improve the quality of analytics.
Serve as a thought leader to the field sales and marketing teams to deliver answers to key business questions around HCP, Account and Patient behavior and work closely with the field sales and marketing leadership to establish metrics and KPIs for sales initiatives
Lead situational analysis and brand planning related to current scenario in the market and future possible events, this exercise results in Brand strategy every year.
May represent AD or Director or GI Insights as appropriate on internal committees or external team (e.g. business partners) meetings and communications. Provides content for agendas, prepares and delivers presentations to address information needs and provides perspective of IBD Analytics team to decisions at hand.
Manage conflicting individual priorities and is flexible while adapting to changing Franchise needs
Recommends and communicates appropriate models/techniques and industry knowledge to other team members
Provides team members and vendors with timely, constructive feedback, and support. Motivates team to excel by leveraging personal strengths and coaching.
Manages consultants and vendors, including onboarding, direction and budget
Identify and proactively seek out opportunities to automate processes to reduce errors and to free up time for more creative work on existing deliverables
Create and deploy tools and resources to continuously improve our understanding of the market and to drive business goals
Education and Experience:
BA or BS (advanced degree preferred) in an analytical field such as statistics, operations research, management science, engineering, economics, math, etc. and 6+ years quantitative analytical or forecasting experience in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology;
MBA with a focus on healthcare and data analysis preferred
Complete understanding and application of quantitative principles, concepts, practices, and standards surrounding the use and manipulation of secondary market data sources.
Proficient in a programming and analysis package such as SAS, Python, R, SQL and comfort with automation of reporting
Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Qlikview or similar preferred, willingness to learn required
Experience with people and vendor management
Communication - and data both verbally and written, in a persuasive, organized and appropriate manner, and preparing presentations for customer groups.
Analytical – ability to analyze relevant data sources and understand how to use this information to drive projects to impact the business.
Management – ability to set priorities and meet specific deadlines in a changing environment, ability to be flexible, accommodating, and to deal with change effectively and align with business goals. Able to empower others by delegating assignment and clarifying expectations.

Periodic overnight travel may be required, travel not to exceed 10%.
