Description The Associate Director of Eye Care Professional Marketing is responsible for driving demand and managing expense targets by executing the brand strategy across channels and customers. Ensures the appropriate allocation of promotional resources in order to maintain, develop or optimize the performance of the brand through monitoring of applicable KPIs. Flexibility is essential in order to respond to requests from leadership to support key marketing events and initiatives as needed. This role provides direction for work delegated to team members and/or vendors to ensure quality, compliant and timely completion of deliverables.

Collaboration with the Consumer and Access Marketing teams is critical for success. Alignment with Sales is essential for swift success. Accountable for the development of a high functioning team that celebrates success within a fun environment.

Responsibilities Manage the development and execution of the Brand Plan including project plans, priorities, timing, and budget phasing for team Lead media strategy and placements across digital, print, social and programmatic Liaison with Sales Leadership and Sales Training to deliver relevant, informed resources to the sales forces in alignment with the brand strategy Develop and execute convention brand experience Oversight of sponsorships in collaboration with Sales and Market Development to ensure alignment of strategic objectives with external opportunities with associations, media and state societies ensuring necessary sponsorships for conference events are submitted and approved as needed Act as day-to-day lead in the implementation of promotional materials, messaging, and programming Ensure all resources and programming are in alignment with Takeda Compliance, Medical, Legal and Regulatory requirements Interface with key individual and organizational customers, industry contacts and suppliers using tact and diplomacy Focus on people development and team performance to clearly set priorities, related performance standards and expected behavior Collaboration with key internal stakeholders (Sales Leadership, Sales Training, Commercial Operations, etc.) and external stakeholders (agency partners, associations, Key Opinion Leaders, publishers, etc.) is critical for success Ability to solve complex problems in collaboration with cross-functional teams in which input will be needed to make informed, strategic decisions Influence without authority across various functional areas and motivate groups to action without direct line management responsibility Articulate the brand and Takeda stories to external partners and Key Opinion Leaders Ensure understanding of and adherence to all relevant internal and external policies or guidelines related to the team’s activities and deliverables Deliver innovative outcomes by taking accepted risk through creative approaches aligned to strategy

Key Skills & Competencies Act decisively and exercise good judgment Show agility with a proven ability to evolve strategic and tactical elements based on research, data and industry trends Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain Takeda’s excellent reputation Exhibit strong written & verbal communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to develop stakeholder relationships Command an audience with confidence with solid platform skills Manage competing priorities and beat deadlines in order to deliver results Education & Experience Requirements College degree required, MBA preferred Ophthalmic Market Experience Preferred 7+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience 5+ years of proven experience in Eye Care Professional Marketing Agency management experience (briefing/execution/budgetary oversight) preferred Previous experience leading a larger scale business project including development & implementation of plan and metrics and achievement of goals Ability to quickly digest scientific and clinical information and translate into marketing tactics Pharma Sales/Leadership experience a plus
