Lawrence Public Schools Engagement Coordinator in Lawrence, Massachusetts

The Engagement Coordinator will work across many teams, and with relevant school departments and local agencies to support the district's planning and implementation efforts to provide high quality engagement practices. Supervised by the Director of Family, Student and Community Partnerships, and working closely with team members, the Coordinator will provide direct support on a number of engagement initiatives and activities that impact student success. Responsibilities include: - Supporting or leading some department initiatives, which include but are not limited to, the Family Engagement Fellowship, Lawrence Learns, Tu Voz Council, Family Engagement Partnership Council, Lawrence Institute for Student Success (LFISS), Play to Learn, LPS Click, LPS Back to School Helpline, and others - Promoting engagement opportunities on relevant LPS social media, such as LPS4Families on Instagram - Working directly with a limited number of schools to provide coaching, facilitation and mediation support - Providing translation support for outreach, policy or announcement related documents - Providing periodic frontline support for families visiting the FRC with regard to resource information and referrals, triaging school-related issues, and registration assistance - Participating in FRC hosted events and activities, including staff and team meetings, workshops, professional development opportunities, and more -Other duties as assigned This individual will make successful connections between team roles, initiatives and activities helping to leverage common themes, participants, resources and capacity to maximize impact for our collective efforts. The successful candidate will have these qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree with two to four years of relevant experience required - Skilled at working on several projects across teams simultaneously and seamlessly - Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people - Innovative thinker with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills - Demonstrated team player who can display patience, act with grace under pressure, and is not intimidated by competing deadlines - Proven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humor - Strong writing skills in both English and Spanish, and comfortable with translation requests - Experience and comfort with desktop and web publishing applications - Bilingual and culturally competent - Lawrence resident highly preferred The engagement coordinator position is a full time, exempt position, to include some evenings and occasional Saturdays. Starting salary range is $46,000-$52,000, commensurate with experience.
