PrismHR Senior Technical Writer - Hopkinton MA in Hopkinton, Massachusetts

Based in our Hopkinton, MA office, the Senior Technical Writer is responsible for writing and maintaining documentation that includes a Confluence knowledge base, videos, release notes, and how-to articles for internal and external customers. The Senior Technical Writer gathers, develops, and disseminates technical information among customers, engineers, and support professionals. The Senior Technical Writer synthesizes content for a wide spectrum of users with technical skills that range from novice to expert level.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and maintain content for Atlassian Confluence knowledge base articles. Collaborate with QA Engineers, Product Managers, and Support to optimize the knowledge base for both internal and external customers.

  • Research and synthesize product information into documentation content by attending standups and interviewing Quality Assurance Engineers, Product Managers, and Subject Matter Experts.

  • Leverage developer and project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Salesforce, and TestRail to understand issues and develop documentation.

  • Working with Jira epics, user notes and stories, and developer notes, update legacy documentation with new features and enhancements.

  • Working from engineering notes, create new documentation for implementation and configuration of new systems.

  • Manage documentation drafts and the flow of information among teams during development and testing.

  • Collaborate with teammates and act as a thought leader or SME for Prism applications.

  • Participate in Agile development processes and influence product enhancements based on customer needs.

  • Manage documentation deliverables with varying priorities and deadlines within monthly sprints.

  • Use revision and source control effectively within a team setting.

  • Pursue job/career-related experiences and learning outside of the scope of assigned duties.

  • Act as an ambassador of collaboration within and across the organization, sharing knowledge in areas of expertise.

  • Develop skills and serve as a team resource for Prism Product Team.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • BS/BA in related field such as Computer Science, Communications, English, or Technical Writing.

  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience as a Technical Writer for complex software systems, preferably in PEO, SaaS, or web-based environment.

  • Superior oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn, analyze, understand, and communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.

  • Technically curious and motivated to understand ClientSpace, Pulse, and PrismHR functionality.

  • Ability to prioritize while taking direction from the Team Lead and management.

  • Proactive at removing impediments with a “get the job done” attitude.

  • Flexible and able to work well under pressure and adapt to shifting deadlines.

  • Experience with a PEO system such as Prism is strongly desired.

  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence and API is preferred.

  • Proficiency with Madcap® Flare® or other online help authoring tool is helpful.
