Senior Consultant, Product Management - IT

What you’ll achieve

The Senior Consultant Product Manager will join our Services Online team, to deliver against our online strategy while also creating solutions to our business and customer problems. As a Senior Product Manager for Dell.com/Support, you will work closely with our business partners and our innovative Product Management, UX Design, and Program Management teams. In addition, the Product Manager will provide a strategic vision and help a team of product managers deliver projects in a dynamic, fast paced, scalable agile environment.

You will also work directly with cross-functional, geographically distributed development teams to turn the strategy into a reality and provide valuable products to customers:

  • Supports the work of Product Managers across a Portfolio of programs

  • Responsible for solutions and technology marketing activities designed to increase web usage and self-service opportunities.

  • Works across functional areas to implement product/ solution strategies and gathering inputs and communicating the impact of product/ solution decisions to all stakeholders

  • Manages product portfolio roadmap and works to scope opportunities and obtain appropriate funding for new programs.

  • Creates, implements and monitors plans for testing products/ solutions through beta releases or pilot programs.

  • Ensures that product/ solution features and specifications reflect customer requirements and ensures product features are defined to obtain maximum usage.

  • Prioritizes features and specifications, applying budget, timeline and other constraints.

  • Collaborate with other Product Managers and Engineering

  • Identifies and communicates customer value proposition and maintains relationships with business partners, product partners, and third party vendors.

  • Maintains relationships with and represents customer requirements during the development process.

  • Manages requirements for new complex product and solution offerings, including feature/cost trade off decisions

Essential Requirements

  • Expert understanding of business goals and objectives as they relate to customer use cases and solutions.

  • Excels in understanding competitors and their products as well as potential partner relationships for the product along with Business Development.

  • The ideal candidate will have a unique blend of technical and business skills to provide insights that will be used by project and portfolio teams to drive requirements that improve the site.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to convey ideas effectively to both IT and business audiences.

  • 15+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12+ years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8+ years experience; or equivalent experience.

Desirable Requirements

  • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM or Pivotal development methodologies and software development lifecycle principles

  • SCRUM Master certification a plus
