The Consultant, Product Marketing in the Storage Product Marketing team will develop positioning and messaging that highlights Dell EMC PowerMax unique value propositions and competitive advantages in today’s evolving IT environment. This position involves creating messaging, collateral, and sales enablement assets for these solution areas. The successful candidate will have a unique blend of creative and technical skills and understand data storage concepts (block & file storage, its features, capabilities, and use cases). In addition, this role requires the ability to understand the needs of the application owners, IT infrastructure admins as well as Dell EMC sales force and responding with compelling assets to support these needs.

Candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to articulate complex technical topics elegantly and succinctly. Candidates must be adept at understanding customer pain points, creating marketing materials and programs that address them.

This position will have extensive interaction with customers, salespeople, and partners. We are looking for a polished and prolific content creator who also knows how to leverage every asset to the fullest extent in integrated marketing programs. This position carries an opportunity to influence a fast growing market and to drive Dell EMC’s market leadership in Enterprise Storage.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product/ solution launch & develops content for internal and external audiences relaying product/solution strategies, product positioning and value propositions, including customer presentations and sales training materials. Continually refines message, internal and external product / solution positioning as market conditions evolve

  • Develops marketing and communications plans and activities for specific product(s) or solution(s)

  • Manages product launches, core positioning and messaging, sales training and marketing programs for assigned products

  • Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer requirements to define product/ solution strategies and identify opportunities to expand market share

  • Position requires ability to interface with all levels of organization including the executive management team as well as external customers, executive management, press and industry analysts

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of product/solutions marketing experience in storage or closely related markets

  • Deep knowledge of the storage market and enterprise IT applications

  • Demonstrated success marketing products in Storage / IT infrastructure / Business Applications

  • Strong presence and ability to passionately articulate products, technologies, and value propositions

  • Hands-on, “can do” attitude

  • Excellent communication skills (written, presentation, speaking, listening). Ability to work with engineers, customers, industry analysts, press/media.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence across functions within the company

  • Technical background highly desired. Marketing/MBA degree highly desired
