With a role in Ventures, you will comb through industry trends and market data to discover insights and growth opportunities that translate into strategic operational plans for Dell Technologies.

Dell Technologies Capital (DTC) is the investment arm of Dell Technologies. The group invests broadly in early-stage innovative IT infrastructure start-ups. The primary responsibilities of the group are to source, qualify and manage investments. DTC deploys approximately $150-200M capital every year and invests in 15-20 new companies.

What you’ll achieve

Our Venture Capital team is at the heart of the Dell Technologies Family Innovation Engine. It invests in emerging startups and provides the resources, expertise, and scale to help them reach their full potential. The Portfolio Development Team brings the breadth of resources from our team and family of businesses to bear to help create leverage for our portfolio companies through creating engagements with our customer ecosystem, by building strategic consultation, and driving programs with our product groups and enterprise partners. As a member on our team, you'll engage deeply with trailblazing companies and act as a strategic extension of their organization. Through our programs and consultative methodology you’ll deliver meaningful value that moves the needle, makes a difference, and impactfully guides groundbreaking innovations to new stages of growth.

You will:

You'll be operating within a small, high performing team, helping develop strategies to shape programs that help our business partners grow and scale. In addition, you will work closely with other Dell Technologies business development leaders, product management, and marketing teams on strategic initiatives and enablement programs that align with Dell and Dell Technology Capital’s goals.

  • Develop new initiatives and oversee ongoing engagements, relationships, and workstreams with Dell Technology Capital’s portfolio companies to deliver strategic value aligned with our platform team's core objectives and act as a hands-on strategic business partner, working closely with founders to provide strategic consultation, Go-To-Market (GTM) support, and assist in setting measurable goals and objectives to optimize both short and long-term business opportunities that accelerate the companies’ growth

  • Design, track, and assess programs that measure the impact of our engagements and enhance collaboration between portfolio companies and Dell Technologies business units, external customers, and partners within our ecosystem

  • Organize and facilitate both virtual and in-person networking events and exposure opportunities among our portfolio companies with investors, academia, industry leaders, strategic partners, and potential customers

  • Collaborate with Dell Technologies internal stakeholders—including sales, product management, product marketing, and channel partners—to design and implement enablement programs that help strategically aligned portfolio companies achieve leverage and scale

  • Engage with Dell Technologies customers interested in our Dell Technologies Capital Investment portfolio, educating them about our investment focus areas and facilitating introductions to drive relationship-building and business development opportunities

Essential Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience in sales, marketing, and/or business development at a top tier technology, or venture capital firm along with the ability to create business management and marketing strategies and execute innovative business development programs with minimal supervision

  • Deep passion and interest in venture capital and technology markets, including familiarity with Enterprise, Security, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning a plus

  • Excellent project management, organizational, collaboration, negotiation, and oral/written communication skills

  • Ability to independently and effectively with global and regional teams in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed environment

  • Some travel required

Desirable Requirements

  • Technical undergraduate degree a plus, MBA or technical graduate degree preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
