WE CAN Corporation Development Manager in Harwich Port, Massachusetts

The Development Manager ensures efficient & effective management of the fundraising program including donor information management, events & campaigns, grant proposals & reporting. The position serves as a key staff member on WE CAN?s fundraising activities & works across all development functions in partnership with the Executive Director, Director of Donor Relations & Advancement, Staff, Board Members, Volunteers & Volunteer committees. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Donor Engagement Administers WE CAN?s annual fundraising program including; Annual Fund: annual gifts of support & donor activities & communications, Champions Program: monthly sustaining supporters program, Community Builders: multi-year pledge program that includes business & individual donors, Planned Giving: philanthropy aligned with donors overall financial &/or estate planning. Coordinates annual communications schedule with staff & Volunteers to ensure excellent donor stewardship through ongoing communications, annual appeals & donor-specific events. Events Management Leads the planning & management of hallmark & unique fundraising events & donor receptions. Coordinates volunteer committees to plan & execute engaging & inspiring events. Manages event logistics & relationships with partners, sponsors, venues & vendors. Develops marketing collateral & communications related to events in collaboration with staff & committees. Grants Management Manages annual schedule of grant applications including the coordination of proposal development with Executive Director & key program staff. Ensures timely & accurate report delivery to funders. Identifies grant opportunities & prospective funders to support program activities & mission-driven initiatives. Donor Information Management Oversees accurate & timely gift processing, including processing donations, generating invoices for donors, & producing timely & accurate acknowledgement letters & communication. Manages donor & fundraising database including data integrity, updates & corrections. Provides & interprets data on a regular & as needed basis to support the organization?s development activities. SKILLS REQUIRED Bachelor's Degree in a related field (i.e. Business Administration, Communications, etc.) 5+ years? fundraising experience. Experience managing events & maintaining relationships with vendors, venues, sponsors & attendees. Familiarity with relational donor databases. Proficiency with website platforms & online donation software highly desirable. Extensive knowledge & experience using Microsoft Office programs. Excellent written, interpersonal & verbal communication skills. Experience managing grant proposal development & reporting desirable. Self-motivated, ability to work independently with minimal supervision & effectively in a team environment. Organized & detail-oriented with ability to complete & track tasks. Excellent interpersonal skills & boundaries; including working with staff, volunteers & participants in an engaging & empathic manner. Professional & welcoming demeanor. Flexibility, adaptability & a willingness to assist others including colleagues & volunteers. Understanding of the landscape of local non-profit organizations on Cape Cod preferred.
