Advocates ACC Clinical Director in Harvard, Massachusetts

Salary: $80,000-$85,000

The Clinical Director is accountable for the clinical services and daily operations at a designated outpatient clinic site, in coordination with the Clinic Administrator and the Advocates Community Counseling (ACC) Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the adequacy and appropriateness of clinical care at the assigned clinic site.

  • Establish and update policies and procedures for clinical care and outpatient clinic operations, in collaboration with the Clinic Administrator and the ACC Leadership Team. Train staff and ensure implementation of all policies and procedures in the assigned clinic site.

  • Develop and implement new services and contracts in coordination with the Clinic Administrator. Engage the ACC Leadership Team in planning and developing services that provide quality care to service recipients of the clinic. Supervise assigned ACC programs.

  • Liaison to other community providers and related agencies and develop community resources, as needed. Represent Advocates and ACC at community events, work groups and related venues and initiatives.

  • Ensure adequate clinical staff through interviewing, hiring, and initiatives to retain high quality, well performing staff. In collaboration with the Clinic Administrator, establish job descriptions and staff assignments. Complete employee status forms upon hire, change of status, and resignation.

  • Maintain staffing schedule to meet volume and program demands. Authorize requests for time off, change in status, time sheets, payroll, mileage, parking and toll reimbursement requests.

  • Coordinate office assignments for all clinic staff at the assigned clinic site.

  • Provide focused leadership, supervision, and support to Team Leaders, clinicians and other program staff. Provide back up to Team Leaders and clinicians as needed during emergencies. Provide and document clinical supervision to Team Leaders and other assigned supervisees, including clinical team consultations. Facilitate monthly clinical supervisors meeting. Ensure supervision is provided to all clinical and operations staff and documented, in accordance with policies and procedures and related regulations.

  • Develop an in-service training program and schedule for professional staff, in collaboration with the ACC Leadership team.

  • Assume responsibility for overall staff performance. Complete performance reviews of Team Leaders and other supervisees, and ensure that performance reviews are completed for all ACC staff at the assigned clinic site.

  • Ensure that there is adequate psychiatric staffing and that the psychiatry and psychopharmalogical needs of persons served are being met, in conjunction with the ACC Medical Director and Clinic Administrator, and in compliance with licensing regulations applicable to the clinic site.

  • Create and maintain a welcoming, trauma informed, culturally sensitive environment in the assigned clinic site, in coordination with the ACC Clinical Supervisors, Operations staff, and ACC Leadership and QM Teams. Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy. Ensure that clinical services are being delivered in accordance with Advocates clinical philosophy and all laws and licensing and regulatory requirements, in coordination with the Clinic Administrator, ACC Clinical Supervisors, and ACC Leadership and QM Teams.

  • Manage and respond to unique or specialized requests for services. Ensure access to essential amenities by people seeking services, including access and ease of maneuvering around the physical site, reasonable accommodations for working animals and communications (TTY, Video Phone, etc.), in collaboration with the Human Resources, IT and Facilities departments.

  • Manage and respond to concerns, feedback, or complaints from customers, funders, community partners or other parties with promptness, curiosity, and respect.

  • Develop and maintain a quality management program, including outcomes measurement and program evaluation, and lead quality improvement initiatives to continuously improve delivery of services and related systems and processes, in conjunction with the Clinic Administrator, the BH QM Team, and the ACC Leadership Team.

  • Provide administrative oversight by convening staff meetings and other venues needed to manage the assigned clinic site.

  • Supervise Operations staff at the assigned clinic site and oversee daily operations including but not limited to opening and closing, intake, scheduling, and the flow of persons served through the clinic.

  • Supervise the Operations staff to ensure that functions related to billing are performed and necessary information is provided to Billing staff. Collaborate and coordinate with the BH Billing Director and Clinic Administrator to ensure the billing function is operating well in the assigned clinic site.

  • Assist the Clinic Administrator in monitoring and managing program budgets and financial performance of the assigned clinic site.

Qualifications

  • MA/MS/MSW or doctoral degree with a minimum of five years of clinical, operational, and supervisory experience

  • 3 years with a Massachusetts independent practice licensure in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work.

  • Minimum of six years experience in providing treatment within an outpatient/residential setting.

  • Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
