We are seeking a Proofreader to be based at our Greater Boston office. The incumbent will be a highly skilled individual with the ability to proofread and edit, as well as develop occasional content for, corporate communications, marketing materials, reports, and proposals. In addition, the incumbent, as a member of the Communications & Design (C&D) team, will provide overall project support to fellow C&D team members, other departmental teams, and senior management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Edit and proofread a high volume of complex business materials (i.e. quarterly financial documents and other reports, presentations, industry reports, etc.) while ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Company standards and deadlines.

  • Partner with various team members on high-level communications and reports (i.e., press releases, annual corporate reports, proposal responses, etc.) as well as clarity of messaging and adherence to and support of the Company’s brand.

  • Identify errors in formatting and composition for reports, marketing materials, and presentations.

  • Work with designers to maintain and enhance proofreading standards and style guide to ensure quality and consistency across internal and public-facing materials.

  • Develop familiarity with correct logos, entity names, and relevant regulatory requirements, including required disclaimers, footnotes, and legal copy.

  • Handle highly confidential material in a manner consistent with Company policies and procedures.

  • Provide weekly project status reports.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical proofreading/editing and writing experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism preferred

  • Excellent command of English language

  • Demonstrated experience in effective spelling, punctuation, and grammar

  • Demonstrated expertise in proofreading and editing

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and a meticulous eye for details

  • Proficiency in business-related software (Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Highly organized and self-motivated

  • Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Ability to prioritize workloads and be deadline driven to ensure effective project completion

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Strong project management experience

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

  • Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities

  • Complete confidentiality regarding all business matters

  • Prior real estate experience highly desirable

  • Background in life science a plus
