This position will be responsible for creating learning experiences that instill a mastery of our products in our customers, partners, and employees. The learning experiences will be delivered via two different channels – technical publications and training courses. The audience for both learning experiences include business users, implementation users and administrators at customers, partners who implement our product, and internal implementation teams. A critical part of the role is a desire to understand the product inside and out. You will roll up your sleeves and work with the product to design and build the right learning experiences. You will also set the example for best practices in user-centered technical writing as part of the cross-functional team. You will participate on product teams, join scrum meetings, and become a product expert.
You will work closely with our product management and engineering teams to ensure our learning experiences complement product offerings to help grow the company. You will engage directly with Axtria's services teams to understand the challenges that they are facing and engage with our partners and customers to make sure our learning experiences are effective.
This is a leadership role that will manage a small group of technical writers, while working closely with product managers and SMEs globally.
This role reports to the Head of Product Management. Location is Berkeley Heights, NJ. Travel expectation less than 10% as needed.
Produce high-quality learning experiences —feature guides, release notes, API docs, training materials and more — to guide and educate customers, partners and internal teams. Develop deep product knowledge through researching, partnering with SMEs, and using the product.
The role is responsible for creating and updating learning experiences for the Axtria portfolio of products.
Should be able to document complex technical topics very clearly, concisely, and in an easily understood manner in team collaboration tools such as Confluence, SharePoint and Wiki.
Ideal candidate should have significant experience as a Technical Writer in a fast-paced software development environment following Agile methodology.
A good eye for developing learning experiences that include text, graphics, videos, and simulations.
Help build our writing team’s standards, processes, and best practices.
Shape the development of our content management system with your writing expertise.
Hire, advise, assist, and mentor other writers, and participate in collaborative content reviews.
Strong work ethic, initiative, and drive
Bachelor’s Degree required.
7-12 years experience developing technical publications for B2B SaaS companies and at least 2-3 years leading and mentoring technical writers
Experience using modern technical publications toolsets and setting standards for technical publications to exceed the expectations of the modern enterprise B2B user.
Excellent writing skills, including thoughtful information hierarchy, great sentence structure, and a conversational yet professional voice.

Exceptional audience analysis, written and verbal communication, and problem solving.
Portfolio of writing samples that communicate technical information in a modern, conversational voice and tone.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in an Agile environment, using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
Demonstrated business acumen, including experience measuring and calibrating the impact of your work against key business and customer experience goals.
