Applied Materials Director, Product Marketing in Gloucester, Massachusetts

Overview

The Varian Semiconductor Equipment division of Applied Materials, located in Gloucester Massachusetts has recently released a disruptive product targeting advanced patterning applications at leading semiconductor customers worldwide. The product team is looking for a senior level Product Marketing leader. The successful candidate will take the lead on all product marketing activities. He/She will work across all internal functional areas such as strategic marketing, engineering, manufacturing and operations, sales, account managers, etc., and will regularly engage customers directly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Product Marketing activities: market analysis/sizing, defining and documenting market requirements, business planning, pricing strategies, cost analysis, marketing plans, development of marketing collateral (customer presentations, technical papers, etc.), and perhaps most importantly, product roadmap and competitive analysis (red teams), etc.

  • Support field sales / account managers with specification responses, equipment evaluations and other supporting documentation.

  • Interface with field teams, Operations and Product Engineering to manage field escalations.

  • Serve as Marketing representative on a cross-functional New Product Introduction team.

  • Participate in strategy planning and quarterly business reviews.

  • Own the Market Requirements Document for new product versions and upgrades.

  • Interface with Product Engineering for CIP and new feature development. Track progress on a regular basis.

  • Support customer visits and conference calls with field sales.

  • Manage a small product marketing team and cross-functional projects.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Must have 10+ years’ experience in a semiconductor fab or at a semiconductor equipment company, preferably in patterning: lithography, etch, etc.

  • Ideally 2+ years on the business side: product or strategic marketing, business management, etc.

  • Minimum BS or preferably an advanced technical degree (EE, ChemE, Mat.Sci., Physics, etc.) MBA or other business education a plus.

  • Strong communication and influencing skills: written, presentations, verbal.

  • Travel up to 20-40% internationally.

U.S. Salary Range:

$176,000.00 - $242,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
